  • 1Description

Enjoy an immersive audio experience with the Samsung HW-K950 500W 5.1.4-Channel Dolby Atmos Soundbar System. It features two up-firing Atmos speakers built into the soundbar and two more built into the rear wireless speakers for object-based audio, allowing for a more 3-dimensional feel to your media. It delivers up to 500W of total power and includes a wireless subwoofer for convenient placement.

The HW-K950 soundbar system has two HDMI, an optical, and an 1/8" Aux input for connecting your external devices. The HDMI output features ARC-compatibility for the reproduction of TV-based audio such as that from built-in apps. For wireless connectivity with your compatible smart devices, it also has Bluetooth built-in. The system includes an HDMI cable for instant connectivity and a wall mount bracket for the soundbar.

Sound from All Around
Get cinema-style sound without leaving home. 15 built-in drivers, including four upward-firing drivers, rear wireless speakers, and a wireless subwoofer deliver sound that feels like it comes from all around, including above, like in the theater.
Feel Every Dimension
Dolby Atmos transports you into the story with moving audio that flows all around you with enhanced realism. Rather than being constrained to channels, sounds exist as individual entities that are precisely placed and moved in three-dimensional space – including from above – putting you in the center of the action.
A Seamless 4K Experience
With 4K pass-through, a simple HDMI connection delivers your audio and video signals. Connect any 4K video source, like a UHD Blu-ray player, through the Samsung HW-K950 to your TV for enhanced sound and 4K picture quality.
Connect Wirelessly and Seamlessly
The soundbar and subwoofer connect to each other wirelessly for seamless sound. Connect the HW-K950 with the optional Samsung Radiant360 wireless speakers for an even more immersive 5.1.4-channel surround sound experience.
Stream Music Your Way
Play your favorite streaming services from your mobile device. Connect the HW-K950 to the Samsung Multiroom App and optional Samsung Radiant360 speakers via Wi-Fi and stream music throughout the house. Samsung HW-K950 reviews

HW-K950 500W 5.1.4-Channel Dolby Atmos Soundbar System is rated 3.4 out of 5 by 29.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great sound bar, not so great rears and no DTS 5.1 Sound bar portion sounds amazing. Subwoofer is loud (a little to boomy in my opinion though). Lack of 5.1 dts is annoying is you plan on watching blurays. The main reason for 3 star review is even with latest firmware, and turning all speakers to -3 and rear speakers and rear upward speakers to +3 I cant get enough volume out of the rears to be noticeable. Also the rears hiss (maybe affected by wifi router?) Honesty the hwk850 may be a better choice because of this. If Samsung patches them to be adjustable to be louder or adds dts 5.1 support I will update my review.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from DD 5.1 vs Atmos The Winner and still.... I'm upgrading from a Vizio 5.1 Soundbar 3 years old so I've enjoyed 5.1 for 3 years ,but compared to Atmos it's no comparison Atmos is an experience more real than 5.1 I've watched all 7 Star Wars Movie on my Vudu account the sound effects are amazing ships coming from behind you, in front of you I watched Superman vs Batman in Atmos it feels like the theater great sound effects. Up conversion is great. 3D TV didn't work nobody wants to wear those glasses but this is 3D sound you feel it some scences made the floor vibrate real bass a good subwoofer this is the best Sound Bar out

Rated 3 out of 5 by from ATMOS = Amazing, everything else is average The good things: - ATMOS is really impressive - Very powerful The bad things: - Terrible dead air/hiss sound from rears when no audio being played - No Support for DTS X or 5.1 DTS track (Only DTS 2.0) - Multiroom App is unfinished and buggy (has potential) - No dedicated input buttons on remote, requiring to scroll through inputs(makes programming Harmony Remotes a pain)

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Release Update for DTS Master Audio If you are playing Dolby Atmos (blue LED), sound is outstanding. If you are playing DTS Master Audio. You will be unhappy customer. Sound quality is terrible - rear speaker are very low in sound effect. Playing movies @ stereo sound, it is not cool at all. Release update and fix this issues. To many unhappy customer for this great design.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Atmos is really great, others are just okay The atmos feature of this soundbar is really great but the sound from the rear is very inferior and almost non-existent. I have tried netflix 5.1 and a lot of other 5.1 sources and the rears are almost useless. For the price, you might be better off getting a proper home theater system. Or, Samsung please provide an update to fix this issue and make this soundbar universally amazing.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Samsung HW-K950 Review Sounds great but frustrating to not have DTS 5.1/7.1 or DTSX Support. Hoping Samsung adds DTS 5.1/7.1/X Support. Would be quite frustrating if Samsung adds DTS Support in next year's model and claim it a "new feature". Last, the rear speaker hiss when not in use and can get annoying. Besides the lacking of DTS 5.1/7.1/X Support and the rear speaker hiss the soundbar is great but definitely feel like it can be improved upon.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Rear Speakers do not Work / No Connectivity The rear speakers (incl. sub woofer) are always losing connection. I have tried every trick in the book and manually connected them over and over again. Their range is next to nothing, and will flash blue or stay a solid red for their connectivity status and not play a sound. For those rare times when I move the speakers really close immediately after manually connecting them, you may occasionally hear a faint sound coming from them, even after playing a Dolby Atmos program on supported devices. I suppose my 150 mbps internet and router next to the TV is causing interference, but I need that for my gaming and streaming. The speakers are of good quality, but the software and connectivity hardware are NOT up to par. I couldn't even imagine how someone could buy this before they came out with basic 5.1 DTS support.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good, but it needs upgrade. THE GOOD: The HW-K950 can hardly be considered a mere "soundbar" because it is actually a full Atmos sound system, with rear wireless speakers and subwoofer. The sound quality is superb and when ATMOS is activated, look out: it will blow you away with full, rich, clear and truly immersive sound with plenty of power to back it up. The soundbar, itself, is hefty, containing eleven speakers (9 frontal and 2 ceiling pointing) and it is long, measuring 4' across. . You need a good size base upon which to set it. The two rear speakers produce great sound and also have ceiling firing speakers. In the ATMOS mode they really kick it. THE BAD: Incredibly, this great sounding ATMOS system loses its appeal when playing 5.1 and 7.1 DTS Master Audio. It only plays in stereo and uses the rear speakers as weak duplicates of the front. This is a MAJOR lapse in engineering and really needs to be fixed quickly. A friendbought the system and returned it for that very reason. And I'm still undecided, since so many Blu Ray disks default to 5.1 DTS MA. And since ARC is used I am a little disappointed that I have to read the menu screen on the soundbar, which is small. Lastly, while the sub-woofer produces an immense bass, it borders on being too bassy, even with a -12 option. OVERALL: I like the system and would really love it if Samsung just went all the way and, instead of giving us two-channel DTS, I mean, really, two channel?, gave us a fully abled sound system that played the two major sound formats.
