TP-Link TL-WPA8730 KIT overview

  • 1Description

Quickly and easily expand the reach of your existing network using the electrical outlets of your home or office with the TL-WPA8730 KIT AV1200 Gigabit Powerline AC Wi-Fi Kit from TP-Link. Simply plug in the first adapter (TL-PA8010) near the network router and plug in the second adapter (TL-WPA8730) in an electrical outlet where you would like to extend the network to. Once plugged in the "pair" button syncs up the two adapters while the "Wi-Fi clone" button syncs the secondary adapter with the existing wireless network effectively expanding your Wi-Fi coverage.

This Gigabit Powerline AC Wi-Fi Kit supports the HomePlug AV2 standard allowing for powerline data transfer rates of up to 1200 Mbps. In addition to enhanced powerline transfer rates, the kit also operates on both the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Wi-Fi frequencies and supports the 802.11ac wireless networking standard with Wi-Fi throughput of up to 1750 Mbps. For a reliable wired connection, users can also connect Ethernet enabled devices directly to the network via the three built-in Gigabit Ethernet ports located on the bottom of the TL-WPA8730 adapter.

Dual Band Wi-Fi Up to 1750 Mbps
With wireless speeds of up to 1750 Mbps, including 1300 Mbps on 5 GHz and 450 Mbps on 2.4 GHz, you can avoid dropped connections or buffering while you enjoy online gaming, stream HD movies, video chat, or share photos on social media.
High-Speed Internet with the Freedom of Wi-Fi
Turn virtually any outlet into a high-speed Internet connection with the TL-WPA8730 KIT. It uses your home's electrical wiring to expand your current Wi-Fi network and provide AC1750 Wi-Fi in any room. Plug in the adapter and place extenders for a reliable wireless network where you need it.
Farther & Faster with HomePlug AV2
With advanced HomePlug AV2, your extenders incorporate 2×2 MIMO technology to provide blazing-fast data transfer speeds of up to 1200 Mbps. Beamforming technology takes you farther by focusing the data transmission where you need it most.
Plug, Pair, and Play
First, connect your TL-PA8010P to the router. Then, plug in the TL-WPA8730 wherever you need extra coverage. Finally, press the "Pair" button on each adapter.
Synchronize Wi-Fi Settings with Auto-Sync
Adding additional Powerline extenders for multiple rooms is as simple as the initial setup. Simply Plug, Pair, and Play. Once this process is complete, you can manage the entire Powerline network from any extender and the changes will be implemented on all network devices instantaneously.
Faster Connections, Better Performance
Three Gigabit ports provide faster connections for connecting high-performance devices, including smart TVs, game consoles, and more.
tpPLC App for Phones and Computers
You can control wireless network settings, set schedules for Wi-Fi availability, and even control the LED indicators on your adapters from your mobile devices or personal computers. With the intuitive, user-friendly design, you can find and change any setting quickly and easily.

    TP-Link TL-WPA8730 KIT reviews

TL-WPA8730 KIT AV1200 Gigabit Powerline AC Wi-Fi Kit is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from works perfect! does what it's supposed to do. i wanted my xbox plugged in as opposed to on wi-fi so i used this and it works great. really easy to set up too. you can connect three things on the receiving end. the plug through is a nice feature on the transmit end so you don't lose an outlet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Using 2 of these kits for excellent steady wired network I have a large house (4400 sqft), and while a single router's Wifi works fine - you see the WiFi signal and can connect, the speeds are very bad. This has extended my range and I have hard wired my IP cameras to these devices. The results are excellent. TP-Link provides a utility to monitor these and I see consistently 100 to 200 mbps speeds. Note that you are not likely to see the stated 1200 speed, but the 100 to 200 mbps is better than the regular 100 mbps wired connection.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from waste of time to setup I bought this trying to extend my existing wifi network, the instruction sounds easy but in reality the pair process simply does not work. It keep broadcasting new ssid instead of using existing wifi network ssid. After 30 minutes trying all sorting of things (watching youtube, read their online documentation) I gave up and decided to return it. There's no phone tech support available at convenient time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does what is says... Bought this on sale from B&H for $78.99 and it was an incredible value. I have Google Fiber 1Gb up/down service (to our second floor) and needed to extend the network to the first floor without running CAT5E/6 to the first floor. Plugged in the TP-Link TL-WPA8730 and then placed the extension unit downstairs. The devices immediately found each other and provided a powerline throughput of approximately 400 (it fluctuated between 390 TX/RX and 413 TX/RX). Plugged an HP Gigabit switch into the extension unit downstairs without any issues and now had plenty of wired connections for all of my devices downstairs. The added benefit of having an addition wireless N/AC network on the extension unit is huge! Highly recommend! (Obviously internet speeds and the age/nature of the electrical wiring in a house will impact the performance; however, that's not an issue with the units themselves).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic This was bought to get wifi into my garage. The router is 3 walls and a 120 feet away. When I am next to my router I get 433 Mbps. In my garage it is 433 Mbps. How great. I am maxed out even though the box is going through two breakers. I suspect the people that had problems have it connected to a power strip. Well worth the money

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Wish I hadn't wasted my money Ok, if I had done a review the first week, it would have been 5 stars. It was easy to set up, and gave me great speeds. Sounds good, right? And it was, at first. When it works, it works great. But if you want uninterrupted, reliable, some wires. This loses it's connection at least once a day. I have to hit refresh on the windows app to get the connection going again. So, if you want something that works great 90% of the time, you'll love this. But you will have to put up with interruptions (that are fairly easily fixed) that happen when you least expect them. If I had known how often I would have to refresh my connection, I never would have wasted the money. Sure it works far more often than it doesn't. But it sure makes me mad when it stops working, which a month into ownership, has become an almost daily occurrence. And way too often, it's several times a day. I miss having a wired connection, when on the rare occasion it failed, I could blame Comcast. Now its almost always TP-Link that's the problem.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Bye WiFi Dead Zone Fast delivery. Easy Set Up.The "Dead (Super Slow) Zone" speeds were less than 2MB Downloads /0.5MB Uploads. With the TP-Link TL-WPA8730 now speeds average 90MB Downloads / 95 MB Uploads.
