Lite Series 2MP Outdoor Vandal-Resistant PTZ Network Dome Camera is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Dead after One Hour I have spent probably 40 hours researching online the various cameras and reading the reviews. Came down to Hikvision or Dahua. I picked the Dahua as it was easy to find the correct wall bracket and it was readily available here at B&H. Order processing and shipping was extremely easy and without any problems, even considering it had to cross the Canadian border. No documentation comes with the camera and so first step was to find the right documentation and software on the Dahua Wiki site. That took a while. Actual setup of the camera was fairly easy and I had it setup on my desk with a live view about a half hour after getting the software installed and finding the documentation. I started to read through the documentation and check out the various parameters for the camera. All of a sudden the live view just froze and then went blank. I restarted the browser, restarted the camera and tried several things before realizing that the camera had just died. Not exactly dead on arrival but pretty close to to. Now arranging for a cross border return. Yuck. Apart from the camera failing, my first impressions were very mixed. The documentation is only available on the web and it is really lacking. Finding something on the Dahua Wiki site is not easy. When you do find the manuals they are definitely not written in good English. The actual construction of the camera seems to be well done with an aluminum housing and well sealed against the elements.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great camera and value. I have an office building with 26 cameras inside and out. So far I have converted 13 of them from other brands to this camera because it offers so many features for the price, performs well, and works well with my Mac. Yes, all those features require more configuration, but they are worth it. My only complaint is the difficulty in getting support from Dahua, especially for firmware.
