This bundle from Spektrum combines the DX8 Gen 2 full-range, 8-channel transmitter (radio controller) with the AR8000 receiver.

  • DX8 Gen 2 DSMX 8-Channel Transmitter

    The DX8 Gen 2 from Spektrum is a full-range, 8-channel transmitter (radio controller) suitable for use with a wide range of model types, including airplanes, helis, mutli-rotors, and more. It features DSMX protocol with legacy DSM2 support for pairing with a range of receivers (available separately). This version of the DX8 supports control modes 1, 2, 3, and 4.

    Programmable Voice Alerts
    The DX8 lets you keep tabs on important functions without ever taking your eyes off what you're flying. You can program voice alerts to call out what flight mode you've chosen or report telemetry information on demand. If an alarm goes off, you won't have to look at the transmitter display to see what's happening. The DX8 can tell you.

    Wireless Trainer Link
    Allows users to wirelessly link the DX8 up with other compatible Spektrum transmitters and specially-equipped Spektrum FPV headsets. Once bound to another transmitter or component, ModelMatch technology will allow the DX8 to re-link without having to go through the bind process again.

    With Wireless Trainer Link, you could:
    • Wirelessly "buddy box" with another DSMX/DSM2 transmitter when teaching someone to fly
    • Assign gimbal functions to a second "camera" transmitter when flying a camera drone, so you can focus on avoiding obstacles and maintaining visual contact while someone else lines up the shot
    • Link with specially-equipped Spektrum FPV headsets to wirelessly control head tracking and remotely change video frequencies


    250-Model Memory
    The 250-slot capacity of the DX8's on-board memory means you should rarely, if ever, need to juggle models between transmitter memory and your SD card. The model-memory menu is designed to be easier to navigate, too. Only memory slots with model settings saved to them will appear; unlike other systems where you will have to scroll through empty slots or move models around if one is deleted. Because the DX8 uses the same AirWare software as many other Spektrum transmitters, you can share model setups across platforms with almost any Spektrum pilot.
    Built-in Telemetry Readout
    The built-in telemetry feature gives you real-time information on things like your model's battery voltage, signal quality, engine or motor temperature, airspeed, altitude and more. Using the voice alert system, you can program the DX8 to tell you when specific telemetry values reach or exceed limits you define. You can also have it call out a sequence of telemetry values on demand with the flip of a switch. If you want to review telemetry after a flight, the DX8 can be set up to record the data to its SD card.

  • AR8000 8-Channel DSMX Receiver

    The AR8000 8-Channel DSMX Receiver from Spektrum is a full-range, 8-channel receiver for your RC aircraft. It is compatible with all Spektrum and JR DSM2 and DSMX transmitters. The AR8000 features a fast input-to-output response with an 11ms frame rate when used with capable Spektrum transmitters, 2048 resolution for smooth servo travel, and a dual receiver design for RF redundancy. Additionally, it provides advanced features to help keep your aircraft safe, such as SmartSafe failsafe and QuickConnect with Brownout Detection. The receiver is also telemetry compatible and supports Spektrum's optional Flight Log module for tracking RF link performance.

    Note: The AR8000 receiver is not compatible with the DX6 parkflyer transmitter.

    Full-Range 2.4GHz DSMX Receiver
    DSMX operates on the 2.4GHz band and combines superior data capacity and interference resistance of a wideband signal with the agility of frequency shifts. This makes DSMX less likely to suffer significant data loss from on-channel interference, resulting is quicker connection times and superior response in crowded 2.4GHz environments. DSMX technology is active only when both transmitter and receiver are DSMX enabled. The AR8000 will also work with existing DSM2 enabled transmitters.
    MultiLink Receiver Technology
    The AR8000 incorporates dual receivers, offering the security of dual path RF redundancy. An internal receiver is located on the main printed circuit board, while a second external receiver is attached to the main board with a 6" extension. By locating these receivers in slightly different locations on the aircraft, each receiver is exposed to its own RF environment, greatly improving path diversity, which is the ability for the receiver to see the signal in all conditions.
    SmartSafe Failsafe
    With SmartSafe, when your RF signal is lost the throttle channel only is driven to its preset failsafe position (normally low throttle) while all other channels hold last command. It also prevents unintentional electric motor response and the possibility of over-driving servos on start-up by storing preset failsafe positions.
    QuickConnect with Brownout Detection
    Should an interruption of power occur, known as a brownout, then the system will reconnect immediately thanks to QuickConnect technology. The LED on the receiver will flash slowly, indicating that a power interruption has occurred. A power interruption occurs when the receiver voltage drops below 3.5 volts. When power is restored, the receiver attempts to reconnect to the last two frequencies that it was connected to. If the two frequencies are present the system typically reconnects within one second.
    Red LED Hold Indicator
    The AR8000 features a red LED that indicates the number of holds that have occurred since the receiver was last powered on. The LED will flash the number of holds then pause. Holds are reset to zero when the receiver is turned off. During the first flights of a new aircraft, Spektrum recommends to check the red LED hold indicator. If it's flashing, it's important to move or reposition antennas until no hold occurs. On subsequent flights, the LED hold indicator can be used to confirm RF link performance.
    ModelMatch Technology
    The AR8000 supports ModelMatch, which is offered on some Spektrum and JR transmitters. ModelMatch prevents the possibility of operating a model using the wrong model memory, potentially preventing a crash. With ModelMatch, each model memory has its own unique code (GUID) and, during the binding process, the code is programmed into the receiver. Later, when the system is turned on, the receiver will only connect to the transmitter if the corresponding model memory is programmed onscreen.
