With Daystar Filters' 0.3Å bandwidth ION H-Alpha Bandpass Filter solar surface contrast can be seen better than other bandwidth filters, and you can expect thin details on surface and prominence features; while views will generally be dimmer. Its 20mm clear aperture will give non-vignetted views on telescope OTAs up to 75mm; and if you're using an OTA larger than 60mm Daystar recommends using an energy rejection filter to prevent damage to the optics, eyepieces, and filter.
Daystar engineered the filter housing so it won't tilt the optics to help increase contrast while maintaining bandpass performance. The ION gives you precision tuning for optimal solar viewing at most air temperatures. Powered by a 12 VDC source, the filter employs vibration-free Mag-Lev fans to dissipate heat quickly without disturbing your view. Daystar includes a 6' power cord, plus a 6' extension and international power plugs.
