Novoflex SL/EOS Overview

Use your Canon EF-mount lenses on your Leica SL camera with this Electronic Adapter from Novoflex. Featuring electronic contacts, this adapter supports various shooting features, such as autofocus in AF-S mode, in-camera aperture control, and permits the use auto-exposure modes. Due to the electronic communication, the adapter will support the AF/MF mode, show depth of field values on the camera, and transfer Exif data to the camera.

This adapter is specifically designed to work with Leica SL cameras updated to firmware version 2.0. It does not currently support continuous autofocus (AF-C) or image stabilization.

Is there an updated definitive answer, since June 2018, stating this adapter will work on the CL with Canon EOS lenses?

Yes, the Novoflex Canon EF Lens to Leica L-Mount Camera Electronic Adapter will work on the Leica CL, as long as the CL camera has been updated with the most recent Firmware.

You can control the aperture on compatible lenses on the S1 camera, but autofocus is not supported.

Will Novoflex update one or both of these adaptors to be compatible with the upcoming Sigma and Panasonic L-mount cameras, and/or any APS-C L-mount cameras? (Acknowledging that in June 2018 Novoflex clarified that these will work only with the full-frame Leica SL, and not the TL/CL cameras.)

I dont know if Novoflex will update for other lenses. I rarely use the one I bought for an SL. Too slow for tele-wildlife on Autofocus which is why I bought it for Canon 500mm. Manual is clumsy but the only way to ensure a clean shot. I should have put the money into a used Canon body.

Would this adapter work on a Leica T? I know the mount is the same, but would the auto features work when mounting a Canon EF lens to it?

I enquired with Novoflex about this today (June 2018). They replied swiftly with this answer: Currently the SL/EOS adapter only works with the SL and can't be used with the T/TL/TL2 or CL.

Can I use the sl/eos adapter on my leica cl? In the official web site, novoflex writes: SL/EOS and SL/NIK both support autofocus and aperture control. SL/NIK can be used with E-Nikkorlenses only. Both lens adapters cant be used with the Leica T . So, in other answers you wrote that the adapter works on leica T. Did you test it?

I can't remember when I replyed that Canon lenses with the adapter worked on the Leica T? I just tested that right now and seen it doesn't work (at least on my camera). I have tested this adapter with success with Canon EF 50mm/1.2 and Canon EF 24-105/ on the Leica SL. That's all. Have not tryed the device on the CL yet, but will see.
