Can you still use the mounting screw at the top ...
Can you still use the mounting screw at the top if you feed a cable through? I don’t see where else the cable would come out if not through the top end.
The top element of the boom pole with the mounting thread is removable. You will need to remove it in order to run a cable inside. The bottom of the pole (by the foam grip) has an opening that allows you to retrieve the male XLR connector - it has a rubber stopper of sorts that allows the plug to remain outside of the pole while the cable is kept inside.
Keep in mind that you will likely need to disassemble at least one of the connector housings of the cable you wish to run internally in order for it to fit through the opening at the top of the pole. Otherwise it will not fit. You then re-assemble the connector once the cable is set inside and the cap is screwed back on.

What does it mean that it has a "built-in raceway for convenient cable management"?
This just means you can run the cable through the inside of the pole without having to wrap the cable around the outside of the Boompole giving you a cleaner looking set up.

The E-Image BC12 does not have a spec for maximum weight capacity, but it has enough tensile strength to support most shotgun microphones and wind protection systems.

One answer says you can run a cable through the ...
One answer says you can run a cable through the pole. The other says you can’t? Which is correct, and if you can’t what’s the point of the cable raceway?
You can run a cable through the pole. Like most other boompoles that support internal cabling, you have to unscrew the top element of the pole to access the interior. You will very likely have to disassemble one of the connectors of your XLR cable in order for it to fit through the opening, as most XLR connector housings are too large to fit. After screwing the cap of the pole back on, you will have to re-assemble the XLR connector.
