NZXT AC-HUEPS-M1 overview

  • 1Description

The black HUE+ Advanced PC Lighting from NZXT illuminates the inside of your case with 40 LED lights across four strips. The HUE+ comes with a controller box that mounts to your computer's 2.5" drive bay and lets you configure the lights with various RGB color effects via the CAM software. Each of the four 11.8" strips features 10 LEDs, and they can be attached using onboard magnets or tape. Extension cables are included, so you can place the LED strips where you need them. Furthermore, the HUE+ and strips are powered from a 4-pin molex connector.

Lighting
HUE+ is a digitally controlled lighting solution that combines intuitive software and versatile routing options to give you creative PC illumination possibilities.
Control
Using the CAM software, you can easily make changes to your PC's lighting effects by switching between modes with a click of a button.
Simple and Versatile
Setting up the HUE+ is both simple and versatile, thanks to the daisy-chainable design of its LED strips. With magnets built into the strips, you can quickly lay them onto any magnetic surfaces or use the double-sided tape to fix them into position to non-magnetic surfaces.
8-Preset Effects
The HUE+ includes 8-preset effects with in-depth customization. With dual-channel lighting output, each channel is capable of supporting up to 4 LED strips and can be configured to run separate effects.
Reactive Lighting
With Smart mode and the built-in Overlay functionality, HUE+ lighting effects react to the changing conditions of your PC. With Audio mode, HUE+ reacts to the audio output of your PC and beats to your systems sounds.

    NZXT AC-HUEPS-M1 reviews

HUE+ Advanced PC Lighting (Black) is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 7.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from CAM software is not very good With every update to the CAM software something broke. The design of the software is nice and the lights look amazing but what is the point of a nice design if the function is horrible.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Looks good needs a few improvements Pros: looks very nice, magnetic strips, was able to completely light my entire case, multiple lighting modes. Cons: no side screw holes makes it incompatible with ssd mounts in my case, the magnets are not very strong and fall off while completing cable management for the leds, uses molex instead of data.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I would buy this product again I like this product although I wish that the color selection inside the software was a bit more versatile other then that good piece of tech.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nzxt should improve on it... Haven't messed with the lighting modes too much yet, but a lot of people online have been having issues getting it to work. I saw a video that explains you need to use a different micro hdmi cable to power it. This requires it to connect to an external usb in the back, but once I set this up, it's worked flawlessly

Rated 5 out of 5 by from HUE+ = LED heaven It's showtime in your PC...or on if you like. Pros: - LEDs are BRIGHT with the ability to control the brightness via the free downloadable software CAM. - Plenty of preset LED light patterns to choose from. - 4 LED strips can be divided into 2 independently controlled channels (more if you buy the expansion kit). - Magnets are strong enough to hold the strips into place (also comes w/3M double sided tape) - HUB screws/fits into the 3.5 HDD drive (or you can use the double sided tape and stick it anywhere) Cons: - I wish they added 1 more magnet in the LED strip, while it's strong enough to hold an additional magnet spaced out would have made sticking it for my case better (this is a nitpick). - Pin connectors are delicate, be careful during initial installation to avoid breaking of any PINs. - A bit pricey compared to what else is out there but you're paying for a premium LED kit imo. 5 stars, price isn't so much a con as a personal opinion because the HUE+ is pretty new so naturally the MSRP is going to be higher atm. Installation was easy, I put 1 LED strip in the back of my case to light up the empty space where the PSU is. The other 3 strips frame out 3/4 of the windowed side panel. It's a real light show and being able to lower the brightness and change the light behavior on the fly is fantastic. Plus or + (see what I did there?) since you can have 2 different channels the back LED strip is running a different light pattern independently to the front. How's this for detail? NZXT's HUE+ hub light, that little white sliver of light on the black box can even be turned on or off. Note: if you leave your PC plugged in, even though it's turned OFF the HUE white light on the box remains lit if you check the box in the CAM software to do so. Other note: the LED strip is white which really adds reflective brightness to the colors, especially white. Corsair has a similar LED/hub kit but their LED strips are black. It really makes a difference in illumination.
