I took this set with me to Italy and found that it worked well. It charged all my devices and none of them blew out so I am very satisfied. I imagine I will continue to bring this set with me in future trips abroad.

Have used this in Antigua and France so far. No issues. Instructions could be slightly clearer but its relatively easy to use.

You don't need this unit if your equipment is 110-240 volt

I am travelling to South Africa soon. I was told by the sales agent @B+H that if you have a product that is already 110-240 adapted, all you need is the converter attachment ( proper plug entry). No voltage regulator required. So, while this unit is very good and handy, it is not an absolute..

question

Extra power outlet for single-voltage devices converts 220/240VAC foreign electricity to the 110/120VAC . My understanding is 1875w limitation is not for the voltage converter, right? What's the limitation on the converter though? That's important to know.

question

What about the 50 hz to 60hz?
Asked by: Anonymous
The converter clearly states input 50 Hz and output 50 Hz. A converter cannot change the frequency of the current. I haven't had a chance to use the converter in a foreign country yet, but the 50 Hz in/out should work with many electrical devices. Devices with motors may see a difference in operating speed from a 60 Hz system with a 50 Hz converter. Hair dryers may get a little hotter. Many items will operate without any noticeable difference. The instructions state the single voltage outlet should not be used with computers, curling irons, or items with a power indicator light. The unit is designed to be used for 30 minute periods. This may limit the usefulness for you.

question

Does anyone know how this works?. South Africa- I would be bringing a battery recharger and a CPAP breathing device. Important.Thanks.
Asked by: Harvey
I just used it in Iceland, there are 4 different adapters that plug into the back. It will take one USB and one normal American plug, without a grounding pin . I had to cut the trird pin off my computer cord. The top socket is for multi voltage devives. So only one American socket, it worked fine.
