The Image MASSter Solo-4 G3 PLUS Forensic Enterprise Super Kit from ICS offers investigators the ability to simultaneously capture from one "Suspect" hard drive to two "Evidence" hard drives using SATA III 6 Gb/s technology at speeds up to 32 GB per minute. It can also capture from two separate "Suspect" hard drives to two individual "Evidence" hard drives and features built-in support for SAS, SATA, and USB 3.0 drives. It is powered by and Intel Core i7 processor and authenticates drive copies with SHA-1, SHA-2 and MD5. Also supported are IDE, RAID, and eSATA drives, as well as a variety of Micro Media flash drives.

When a "Suspect" drive is cloned to an "Evidence" drive, each image is saved as a 100% copy, Linux DD images, or E01 image files. All "Evidence" drives can also be encrypted on-the-fly during the acquisition phase to help protect sensitive data during transportation or storage. Gigabit Ethernet connectivity is also offered, allowing users to upload drive images to a Storage Area Network (SAN) for processing and archiving. For those who need to acquire cell phones, this unit can be used as a platform for third party cell phone acquisition apps such as Paraben, XRY, and more.

The Image MASSter Solo-4 G3 PLUS operates using Windows 7 Home Premium. Included with this drive acquisition unit are four SAS data cables and power cables, an IDE to SAS adapter kit, a 150W power supply, a power cord, and a touch pen. Additionally, the Super Kit configuration also includes an expansion box configured with a SCSI, PCIe card reader, a mini USB mouse, a mini USB keyboard, a 4-port mini USB 2.0 hub, mini speakers with jack headphones, a Wi-Fi USB 2.0 adapter, a DVD with an eSATA connection, a LinkMASSter option for seizing data from un-opened laptops, and a LinkMASSter MAC option. All of the included items come in a hard rolling case.

General Features

Write-Protected Ports
All drive and USB ports are write-protected, helping to eliminate the possibility of overwriting valuable data.
Built for Today's and Tomorrow's Hard Drive Technology
Built to work with fast hard drives, the Image MASSter Solo-4 G3 PLUS Enterprise Forensic Data Acquisition Unit authenticates and sanitizes at SATA III 6 Gb/s speeds (32 GB/min max). This technology not only allows the unit to take advantage of today's fast hard drive speeds, but also allows the user to be prepared for tomorrow's future hard drive speed improvements.
Multiple "Suspect" and "Evidence" Ports
The unit provides four native SATA/SAS ports for two "Suspect", two "Evidence" drives and four native USB 3.0 ports.
Expansion Box
The Image MASSter Solo-4 G3 PLUS Enterprise Forensic data acquisition unit is designed with a built-in support to connect to an expansion box, and provides the capability to capture data from additional devices which have interfaces not natively available on the Image MASSter Solo-4 G3 PLUS Enterprise Forensic Data Acquisition Unit. The Expansion box is configured with the following hardware:
  • FireWire 1394 PCIe card for connecting 1394a (one port) or 1394b (two ports) mass storage devices.
  • SCSI Ultra320 PCIe card for connecting SCSI mass storage devices. The Image MASSter Solo-4 PLUS Enterprise Forensic can capture from 2 SCSI "Suspect" drives simultaneously.
  • PCIe to ExpressCard 34 Reader for connecting a broad range of Express Card-compliant cards, such as Express Card USB 3.0 adapter cards that enable user to connect USB 3.0 mass storage devices.
  • An External Multi-Output Power Adapter (not supplied) is required to power the second SCSI drive when capturing two "Suspect" SCSI drives to two "Evidence" drives simultaneously. It is also recommended to use the External Multi-Output Power Adapter to power two or more external drives connected to the Expansion Box.
  • ExpressCards are not supplied with the Expansion Option.
  • The expansion box can be configured with other controllers to support different interfaces, such as the support for Fibre Channel drives.
  • "On the Fly" Drive Image Encryption
Utilizing built-in AES 256-bit encryption technology, the Image MASSter Solo-4 PLUS Forensic encrypts all digital data with minimal speed degradation during the acquisition process for the purpose of safe guarding sensitive information. The Image MASSter Solo-4 G3 PLUS creates a secure key with a user-chosen pass phrase and an AES 256-bit encryption key is then generated by the Image MASSter Solo-4 G3 PLUS and can be saved to any USB thumb drive. The encrypted drive can be decrypted on the fly utilizing the Image MASSter Solo-4 G3 PLUS or any regular PC loaded with the ICS free decryption utility and the USB thumb drive containing the saved key. Users can then safely image the decrypted data to an additional "Evidence" drive. The Image MASSter Solo-4 PLUS supports the AES 256-bit block cipher encryption standard, which has been approved by NIST and chosen in the US as the government standard. The Image MASSter Solo-4 G3 PLUS' AES Encryption Algorithm is hardware based and is embedded and implemented directly through the unit's VIA Nano Processor.
    Windows 7 Operating System
The Image MASSter Solo-4 G3 PLUS runs on Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit).
    Drive Wiping
Supports single pass or full DoD drive "Sanitizing".
    Multiple Hash Verifications
The Image MASSter Solo-4 G3 PLUS Forensic data acquisition unit can authenticate an image using SHA-1, SHA-2, and MD-5 of the captured "Suspect" hard drive on the fly.
Uploads "Suspect" Images to Network Storage
The Image MASSter Solo-4 G3 PLUS can upload "Suspect" drive data images to Storage Area Networks (SAN) using its Gigabit Ethernet Connection for the purpose of sharing, processing, and archiving forensic capture data over the network.
    Preview Data
Users can preview active files on the "Suspect" hard drive utilizing Windows 7 file viewers.
