The Image MASSter Solo-4 G3 PLUS IT Enterprise Hard Drive Data Acquisition Unit from ICS is controlled via a touchscreen and offers offers IT professionals the ability to simultaneously capture from two "Source" hard drives to two "Desination" hard drives using SATA III 6 Gb/s technology at speeds up to 7 GB per minute. It can also capture from one "Source" hard drive and transfer the data to up to three "Destination" hard drives. SAS, SATA, eSATA, USB 3.0, and FireWire drives drives are natively supported, operations are powered by an Intel Core i7 processor, and drive copies are authenticated with SHA or MD5 algorithms. Also supported are IDE and a variety of flash media.

When a "Source" drive is copied to an "Destination" drive, the data can be saved using IQCopy mode, which copies only allocated files, Percent of Disk, which copies all sectors including unused ones and supports any operating system, Multi MASSter, which allows for the duplication of stored images of hard drives, and and VHD Capture, which allows the storing multiple images in a single "Destination" drive or shared network folder.. All "Destination" drives can also be encrypted on-the-fly during the acquisition phase to help protect sensitive data during transportation or storage. Gigabit Ethernet connectivity is also offered, allowing users to upload drive images to a Storage Area Network (SAN) for processing and archiving. For those who require 3rd party application support, the unit supports installation of these apps.

The Image MASSter Solo-4 G3 PLUS operates using the Windows operating system. Included with this drive acquisition unit are four SAS data cables and power cables, an IDE to SAS adapter kit, a 2.5" drive adapter, a 150W power supply, a power cord, and a touch pen.

General Features

Speed
Built to work with fast hard drives, the Image MASSter Solo-4 G3 PLUS IT Enterprise Data Acquisition Unit duplicates and sanitizes at SATA III 6 Gb/s speeds (7 GB/min max). This technology not only allows the unit to take advantage of today's fast hard drive speeds, but also allows the user to be prepared for tomorrow's future hard drive speed improvements.
One Write Protected "Source" Port
For the protection of the user's original images, the unit provides one standard write protected native SATA/SAS "Source" port and one standard write protected native USB 2.0 "Source" port for the duplication of up to three "Target" drives. Optional adapters allow the imaging of IDE drives, 1.8" ZIF, 2.5" laptop drives, and flash media such as CompactFlash, Memory Sticks, SD, microSD, MMC, etc.
Multiple "Target" Ports
Provides three native SATA/SAS "Target" ports and three native USB 2.0 "Target" ports to allow the user to make up to three copies of a single drive. One of the "Target" ports can be configured by user as an optional write protected "Source" port to allow the single copying of 2 different "Source" drives simultaneously. Optional adapters will allow imaging to other drive devices including external RAID units.
Multiple Operational Modes:
  • Single Source Copy Mode: Allows duplicating from one "Source" drive to up to three "Target" drives.
  • Multi Source Copy Mode: Allows duplicating from two "Source" drives to two individual "Target" drives.
  • Multi Operational Mode: Allows performing different operations simultaneously, such as duplicating some drives while sanitizing other drives.
  • Multi MASSter Mode: Allows the duplication of up to three different "Target" hard drives from images stored on a single "Source" drive. For the user's convenience, this mode allows for multiple images to be stored on a singe "Source" drive.
  • Windows Operating System
The Image MASSter Solo-4 IT G3 PLUS Enterprise runs on the Windows operating system, providing flexibility and device compatibility support.
    Multiple Imaging Formats
  • IQCopy: Copies only allocated files, greatly reducing copy time and automatically scaling and formatting partitions.
  • Percent of Disk: Copies all sectors, including unused sectors and supports any operating system.
  • Multi MASSter: Allows for the duplication of stored hard drive images.
  • VHD Capture: Allows storing multiple images in a single destination drive or shared network folder.
  • Drive Wiping
Supports single pass or multi-pass wiping using DoD standards to erase all hard drive data.
"On the Fly" Drive Image Encryption
Utilizing built-in AES 256-bit encryption technology, the Image MASSter Solo-4 G3 PLUS IT Enterprise encrypts all digital data with minimal speed degradation during the acquisition process for the purpose of safe guarding sensitive information. The Image MASSter Solo-4 G3 PLUS IT Enterprise creates a secure key with a user-chosen pass phrase and an AES 256-bit encryption key is then generated by the unit that can be saved to any USB thumb drive. The encrypted drive can be decrypted on the fly utilizing the Image MASSter Solo-4 G3 PLUS IT Enterprise or any regular PC loaded with the ICS free decryption utility and the USB thumb drive containing the saved key. Users can then safely image the decrypted data to an additional target drive. The Image MASSter Solo-4 G3 PLUS IT Enterprise supports the AES 256-bit block cipher encryption standard, which has been approved by NIST and chosen in the US as the government standard. The Image MASSter Solo-4 G3 PLUS' AES Encryption Algorithm is hardware based and is embedded and implemented directly through the unit's VIA Nano processor.
Upload and Download Images to Storage Area Networks (SAN)
Images files can be uploaded and downloaded to a Storage Area Network (SAN). This will allow the user to take advantage of large storage platforms for the purpose of processing and archiving images.
    Preview Data
Preview active files on the "Source" drive utilizing Windows file viewing capabilities in a write protected environment. Optional 3rd party USB card reader support allows the use of flash media such as CompactFlash, Memory Sticks, SD, microSD, MMC, etc.
    Write Protection
By default, the "Source" port is permanently write-protected. Optionally, any "Target" port can be write-protected when used as a "Source" port in Multi-Source Copy Mode to help avoid any accidental overwrites to the original hard drive.
    Hashing and Data Verification
Provides read back verification and hashing using MD5 or SHA algorithms for data integrity verification.
