Think Tank Photo 730563 Overview

  • 1Description

Bring two DSLRs with attached lenses, two to four extra lenses, related accessories, and an up to 15" laptop and 10" tablet on your next plane trip with the black Airport International V3.0 Carry On from Think Tank. This sturdy rolling case is designed to meet most international airline carry-on requirements. Of course, it's always prudent to check with your carrier prior to departure. Interior padded, touch-fastening dividers are useful for protecting and organizing gear. The front of the case has an expandable dedicated laptop and tablet compartment with an organizer panel and zip pocket. And located inside underneath the lid are a variety of zippered accessory pockets. For easy access, the spacious main compartment unzips on three sides. One great feature is the stretchable front pocket that serves as a catchall for magazines, small reflectors, and more.

The Airport International V3.0 has TSA-approved zipper locks for the main compartment, and a high-strength coated cable and combination lock for the laptop and for securing the case to an immovable object. Store your water bottle and tripod in the convenient side pockets. Additional tripod straps are included. A retractable trolley handle, in conjunction with two 80mm, ABEC, grade 5 ball bearing wheels, makes travel over flat ground easy. Grab handles on three sides are for lifting the Airport Advantage in and out of vehicles and overhead bins. An included rain cover with storage pouch helps protect the case from dirt and inclement weather. Quality materials such as water-repellent 1680D ballistic nylon, closed-cell foam padding, tall skid plates, and reinforced PE board dividers offer strength and durability. Photographers will appreciate the handsome business card holder located on top.

    Think Tank Photo 730563 Reviews

Airport International V3.0 Carry On (Black) is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 104.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Loved it at first, but then... I have a lot of think tank stuff, wallets, multiple bags, two large holsters, a modular belt system/harness, and the Airport Security v2.0 (same feet as this one). It's generally smart and really well designed, but after a little over a year the front rubber feet wore out so much that the front nylon part of the case began to scrape the ground and tear open. Think Tank, WHO ACTUALLY MAKES FUN of Pelican'sLifetime Warranty in their materials, saying that they are reasonable actually told me that 16 months for the feet to wear almost completely away was reasonable wear and tear. They wouldn't even SELL me a new set of feet. For a case as expensive as this, I expected better. So it's probably good for the occasional vacation traveler, but if you use it daily, it won't hold up for long at all. Do what I did and replace it with a Pelican, whose products are pretty bomb-proof and when they do wear out they replace them with new pieces

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice case Nicely designed case with lots of flexibility. Held everything I needed and fit in the overhead bins on all my flights including regional airlines like Alitalia. However, despite the size requirements I did have to check the bag twice, once domestic and once international, due to limited overhead space due to a full flight. Keep that in mind. I do like the case, however having also used the Roller Derby from Think Tank, I slightly prefer it over the International v3 bag, even though it's too large for international carriers. I like the four wheels versus two and the zipper better. Internals are about the same. Either will serve well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality - top to bottom. Think Tank has long been known for quality and the International V2.0 has extended the legacy. Wheels, locks, zippers, grips and load capacity are all first rate. The ability to strap a tripod or monopod to the side of the bag and the included water resistant cover, make the International V2.0 an idea bag for the traveling photographer, both domestic and international, who wants his/her expensive camera gear sized as carry-on luggage. The sturdy locking system on the bag, zippered compartment and laptop storage sleeve are reassuring when your gear has to be unattended for brief periods. Well worth the price and highly recommended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Carries exactly what I need, great purchase This is a great bag. It allows me to transport everything I need for a video shoot. The wheels are solid and durable, made with rollerblade type wheels so not only can they take a beating, I think they also cushion some of the impact. I will sometimes tote my Mark III and IV with lenses attached, an additional wide angle lens, Zoom H5, wireless mic kit, lav mic, XLR cables, camera light. It has nifty pockets for batteries, extra cards etc. I have also stuffed a Genaray LED light in the front zip pocket where the laptop should go. It comes with a couple of straps to attach a light tripod or light stand. My point is that it is very versatile. Have not had to fly with it yet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Can't believe I waited this long I love Think Tank products and for the longest time had the backpack version of this carry on.? It's excellent, but lugging 15K of gear around airports and through hotels etc etc got really old, REALLY fast.? So, I hemmed and hawed and finally got the Intl V3.0.? Well, it holds all the same stuff my backpack did (I was worried the handle would get in the way but it doesn't - it just means I organize things a bit differently but it all still fits) and wow do I feel better when I get on location and I haven't had to carry it all.?? I also think that it being a roller my gear is a bit less subjected to bumps and such as I'm not putting it down and picking it up as much.?? I love the locking system (easier than the backpack version) and overall am thrilled with this bag.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great except for the handle! We bought this bag for a recent trip so that we could carry on all of our gear. I'm used to carrying a Think Tank backpack and it was so nice to finally have some wheels! We actually did end up having to check it at the gate on one flight because there wasn't any room left by the time we boarded. Checking equipment always makes me nervous, but everything was well protected, so we had no issues. The only complaint we have is that the retractable handle feels pretty cheap and it doesn't stay locked like it should. It takes a couple times of extending it out to get it to stick.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from REALLY PUTS THE TANK IN THINK TANK! I've heard a lot of great things about this bag and have been wanting to purchase it for some time. The photos do not even come close to doing it justice. This bag is STOUT. It is made very well and I love every feature. The only thing I do not like is an option it does not come which is something a lot of other Think Tank customers dislike as well. That is that I wish there was an option to choose the low divider set when ordering instead of having to pay extra for it and order it seperately. Who needs two divider sets?? I must admit this needs to be addressed by Think Tank, and fast. That is the only reason I give them 4 out of 5 stars. For not having the common sense to make this happen. And by the way, if Think Tank is listening, I would like a discount on a low divider set if you do start making it an option at ordering since I wasn't given the chance to do so when I ordered my bag.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Buy it. Use it. Love it. I've had a ton of camera bags in my lifetime. Some good. Some bad. Think Tank Airport International is a great bag. I'm getting older, love the wheels. My equipment is expensive, love the quality and sturdiness of the bag. My back hurts, this bag rolls like a dream. Plenty of room. I have two. One carries my 400 f2.8 and 24-70 with Nikon 810 and filters. The other carries my 15, 21, 35, 100 macro, 135, 800e and filters. No need for you to hesitate, buy this bag.

    question

Is tipping forward a problem when a laptop is inserted?
    Asked by: Michael
I have no problem with tipping with a 15 mbp. This may be a little obvious but the lid gets heavy with the laptop in it. Sometimes, in a rush, I forget and just swing it open. This is, of course, user error and nothing wrong with the bag. Unless you have some crazy gaming laptop I believe you'll be fine.

    question

Has anyone ever had a smaller commuter plane refuse to put this smaller International (either vs 2 or 3) on as carryon?
    Asked by: Karen L.
Yes. Just had the bag refused in a AA flight. It was a small regional jet. Would not fit into the overhead. However the case locked up and equipment was OK when I inspected at pickup.

    question

These is no picture for how this bag actually stores laptops. Can you show actual pictures storing laptop computers? (the ability to store laptop computer is critical for me) Thank you.
    Asked by: Anonymous
There's a kangaroo pouch on the front that the laptop slips into. I travel with a 15 macbook w/ cover and it's pretty snug. Certainly won't fall out. Having said that, it's not very well protected if you know that your bag is going to get tossed around. So on a large plane, I keep it there when using the overhead bin. On smaller planes where you can't take the carryon on-board, I keep the laptop with me in the plane.
