Explore new worlds with the Vuzix iWear Video Headphones. These video headphones feature a pair of HD displays that go over the user's eyes, simulating the experience of viewing a 125" screen from 10 feet away. Each display boasts a 720p resolution, helping to mitigate the "screen-door" effect. Along with 3D and VR media, the iWear supports gaming engines like Unity and OSVR and use as an FPV drone headset.

Built-in head tracking with 3-axis accelerometer, gyroscope, and compass.
A full-immersion face mask can be used or removed.
The floating design limits face contact with the iWear for increased comfort over long periods.
The iWear supports HDMI industry-standard 3D and 2D media. 3D Force mode turns your 2D content into 3D.
The electronic equalization button lets you select from various presets to tune your audio to your liking.
Integrated over-the-ear headphones increase immersion.
PC gamers can use the noise-cancelling microphones to communicate with other players. A mute button lets you shut them off at will.
Integrated brightness controls let you adjust the displays instantly.
USB and HDMI connections let you use the iWear with a variety of sources.

iWear Video Headphones is rated 2.7 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Useless I was looking for a more immersive experience, but the screen looks smaller than just watching on my laptop. And there are issues: the headphones want to fold in when you're not wearing them, and when it does this it gets the eyepiece dirty and so needs cleaning, often; the display cuts in and out for no apparent reason; it feels when wearing them that you're looking up and there's no way to adjust it. Not useful.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from a few drawbacks Although the picture quality and sound is excellent, there's a few drawback, like the buttons (on the left eardrum) are too much concealed and hard to get at when those Google's are mounted on your head, you would have to remove them to get access to those buttons, very annoyingly, and the headphone should have been Bluetooth. Excellent and clean construction, very robust.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Best Bang For The Buck Currently (December 2017) Generally speaking I like this unit after ~ 2 weeks of ownership. Upon receipt I immediately updated the firmware. I then tested the unit by playing some mpg video files off of a USB stick attached to an old Himedia HD900B media player and experienced garbled audio...the audio was barely detected along with a weird noise in the background that sounded like cards flapping rapidly...extremely weird to say the least! So of course I immediately thought I had received a faulty unit but I then tested the Vuzix with other HDMI sources like a DirecTV STB and a Panasonic blu-ray player and the audio sounded fine as expected so I guess the Vuzix did not like the HDMI implementation on the Himedia media player for some reason. Video quality is fine considering it is limited to 720p; I do see a hint of the screen door effect for certain videos but it certainly is far better than what you will usually see using VR capable smartphones currently. I'm getting the advertised 3 hour battery life so far. I plan on using this for occasional movie viewing in bed and possibly as a viewer for drone flights if I get on the drone bandwagon in 2018. I also will probably use this in conjunction with the HDMI out of my JVC camcorder when photographing outside in bright sunlight conditions where it is difficult to see the JVC's LCD screen.
