Cokin P Series Hard and Soft-Edge Graduated Neutral Density Filter Kit with P Series Filter Holder
Key Features
  • Cokin P Series Filter Holder
  • Cokin P Series Graduated ND Filters
  • Reduce Exposure in Selective Areas
  • Optical Resin CR39 Construction
This Cokin P Series Graduated Neutral Density Filter Kit contains three filters that can be used individually or in various combinations to improve the results of your landscape photography by preventing overexposure in specific areas of an image, such as bright skies, while allowing for a normal, unaffected exposure in the other regions of the image. The included filters consist of 84 x 100mm graduated neutral density filters that reduce the amount of light entering a lens by up to one, two, and three stops, respectively. Additionally, the one and two-stop graduated neutral density filters feature a hard-edged line of transition between their dense and clear areas while the three-stop graduated neutral density filter has a soft-edged line of transition. A graduated neutral density filter with a hard-edged line of transition is useful for images which include defined horizon lines, while a graduated neutral density filter with a soft-edged line of transition is able to filter the sky while minimizing its effect on the land. A soft-edged line of transition is particularly useful where the transition between sky and foreground is indeterminate, such as images featuring mist, fog, or the tops of trees. Together, these filters provide a versatile solution for various lighting conditions and horizon lines. To allow these filters to be placed in front of a lens, this kit contains a filter holder for rectangular filters that are 84mm wide and 1.6mm thick. To connect the filter holder to a lens's front filter threads, a separately-available Cokin P Series lens adapter ring is required. For cleaning and maintenance of each filter which is made of durable, optical resin (CR39) and measures 1.6mm thick, a microfiber cloth is also included.

question

will this work on my A7II lens?
Asked by: Anonymous
While it should be compatible, the answer will depend on the lens you own, not which camera you own. As the Sony Alpha a7II Mirrorless Digital Camera uses interchangeable lenses, we would first need to know which lens you own (or the filter thread size for your lens) to see if there is an adapter ring compatible for your lens' filter thread size. As this was not listed in your inquiry, I would have to recommend to e-mail us the brand/model name of your lens, the B&H number, or the filter thread size of your lens to [email protected] and we could then inform you if the system would work with your equipment, and which lens adapter ring would be required for purchase to use the filter holder system with your equipment.

I can't find a P Series adaptor for my Nikon Z50 ...

I can't find a P Series adaptor for my Nikon Z50 46 mm lens. Will a 46 mm to 62 mm step up ring with a 62 mm adapter work?
Asked by: Felisa
The Cokin P-series filter holder is designed for filter threads between ⌀48mm and ⌀82mm. However, if you have a ⌀62mm P-series adapter ring and a 46-62mm step-up ring, then you may use the P-series filter holder on the 46mm filter threads on your lens.

Are the filters large enough to move the line of the horizon up and down in holder and still cover the entire image?
Asked by: Scott
Yes, you can move the filter to align the horizon. However, it is anticipated that the horizon will cover 1/3 of the image. You can't push the gradient all the way to the very top/bottom.
