Saramonic SR-WM4C Overview

The Saramonic SR-WM4C VHF Camera-Mount Wireless Omni Lavalier Microphone System provides an easy-to-use, plug-and-play audio solution that delivers quality-sounding speech and dialog for budget-conscious vloggers, mobile journalists, and videographers.

The lightweight, portable SR-WM4C includes a bodypack transmitter and a WM4C-M1 lavalier microphone with a locking mini-XLR connector for a solid connection. The mic can be clipped to clothing, close to the speaker's mouth, for a clear, present sound—far superior to the sound you get from the camera's built-in mic when shooting video.

The camera-mount receiver's output plugs right into the audio input on your camera or recording device using the supplied 3.5mm coiled cable. A wide selection of optional output cables (available separately) allows you to connect the receiver to smartphones and tablets, action cameras, or computers.

The system offers a range of 197' and four selectable VHF frequencies, which provides options for finding a clear channel in case of signal interference. The transmitter and receiver each run on two AA batteries for up to 5 hours of shooting time.

The receiver features a headphone output with a volume-control wheel, great for real-time monitoring of your mic when your camera does not have a headphone jack.

Other Features
  • Detachable and flexible antennas can be rotated 360° to optimize wireless transmission.
  • LED light on transmitter and receiver indicates battery life.
  • For man-on-the-street interviews, or if you need to pass the mic between several people, you can add the SR-HM4C wireless handheld microphone (available separately) to your system.
  • The SR-XLR4C plug-on transmitter (available separately) allows you to connect any handheld dynamic XLR microphone of your choice.

Will this work with a Macbook pro, will it need any adapters?
Asked by: jan
You will need an adapter. The SR-PMC2 will plug into the headphone port on the MacBook Pro, or the the SR-C2001 or the SR-C2003 to plug it into a USB-C port, or the USB-CP30 to plug it into a USB-A port. Any of those 4 products would work well.

The Saramonic SR-WM4C VHF will not work with the Panasonic HC-v180 video camera. As the HC-v180 camera has no mic input.

question

Will two of these microphones work with the Tascam DR-60DmkII 4-Channel system? I need them for interviews.
Asked by: Anonymous
They will, but you are going to need to use an impedance matching output cable. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/87291-REG/Audio_Technica_CP8306_CP8306_Adapter_Cable_for.html

How would I use this with a field recorder like the Zoom H6?
Asked by: Louis
I am currently using this lav with a Tascam DR-60DmkII 4-Channel Portable Recorder with the harmonic lav as a main audio source the sound is decent make sure you use fresh batteries and check the place you are going to use it for interface issues the first time out of the box it worked great but the second time different location it worked great at first but the longer I used it. The sarmonic started to cut in and out terribly. I had to go hard wire in the middle of my production, it was a disaster. Having to discount a client because of equipment faiilure is embarrassing.

would this work for a g7x?
Asked by: Tara
No, the Canon G7 X does not have an input to connect an external microphone, but you could use a recorder to capture audio separately with the Saramonic wireless lavalier system.
