The Avid Pro Tools | Ultimate 1-Year Software Updates + Support Plan NEW (Retail) is for owners of a Perpetual license (Retail) of Pro Tools | Ultimate 9, 10, 11, 12, 2018, 2019, 2020, or 2021 that have an expired 1-Year Software Updates and Support Plan, and who want to regain access to software updates and the support plan for a period of one year.

What's Included and How to Manage Your 1-Year Plan
  • For owners of Pro Tools HD 9 or later Perpetual license
  • Latest version of the Pro Tools | Ultimate software. 
  • 1-year access to all available Pro Tools | Ultimate updates. Keep all installed updates after the 12-month period expires.
  • 1-year access to ExpertPlus support with unlimited priority phone support and online technical support plus billing and account help—response within 4 hours.
  • 1-year access to the Complete Production Bundle (over 115 plug-ins) and HEAT add-on. Once your 1-Year Updates and Support Plan lapses, you no longer have access to the Complete Production Bundle unless you renew or resubscribe. 
  • 1-year access to Celemony Melodyne essential.
  • 1-year access to SoundFlow Cloud Avid Edition.
  • Access to 1GB of Cloud Collaboration storage, 2GB high-quality loop library, plus over 3GB of bonus samples and sounds for virtual instruments.
  • Users who wish to retain access to software updates and ExpertPlus support after the initial 1-year period need to purchase a 1-Year Software Updates and Support Plan RENEWAL before their current updates and support plan expires. The active 1-Year Software Updates and Support Plan currently attached to your Perpetual license can be renewed at any time before it expires.
  • If your 1-Year Software Updates and Support Plan has already expired, you need to purchase a 1-Year Software Updates and Support Plan NEW.
  • Pro Tools runs on Intel-based Windows and Mac computers as well as on M1-based Mac computers. 
  • Choose to authorize the software either via cloud license with iLok Cloud (requires a constant Internet connection) or with a physical iLok 2 / iLok 3 key (available separately).

I work for an organization that used an old version ProTools for years without doing any upgrades. When we did a huge renovation and took down the studio I thought we would be able to continue using the same version. After renovations, the old version no longer worked because we upgraded the operations system. B&H is the only retailer I could find with copies of the license we needed to get back on track!

There should be no issue running a 2016 mac book pro with this version of pro tools. The student version sold here at B&H is available only to students in U.S. accredited institutions. You may purchase a student version in Argentina nonetheless.

I have Pro Tools 7.4 LE currently with interface (M-box2 mini)But since I changed the computer which is iMac 2011 Mid with OS X Yosemite, this version not working any more. Cannot install software, and computer won't recognized interface. So I am planing to up grade new Pro Tools. My question is,1) Do I have eligibility of this?2) Computer is changed from the one originally installed. Still up gradable?I know I need new interface and new iLok. But before that, I would like to knowright way to get the latest version of Pro Tools.I appreciate your help. Thank you.

Because all software packages are sealed for the consumers' protection, there is no way of knowing which iLok version is included; and AVID does not list this information explicitly. Here is some information you may find useful however. The ilok2 has been discontinued for some time now, but it is highly probable there are still software packages with the old iLok. The iLOk 3 (B&H# PAILOK3) is available for purchase separately on our site, offering smaller yet stronger housing, with the 3 times the amount of storage space.
