  • 1Description

The UltraWide QHD XR342CK 34" 21:9 Curved IPS Monitor from Acer features a curvature to the panel, making it easier to view the display without turning your head. To accompany the enhanced viewing experience offered by this curved panel, Acer has incorporated Adaptive-Sync technology into the display to help reduce stutter and tearing when gaming and viewing movies and videos, as well as dual DTS Sound speakers for a complete multimedia experience.

This UltraWide curved panel provides an ultra clear picture thanks to the 3440 x 1440 resolution, while the 21:9 aspect ratio offers more screen space to make multitasking a breeze. A 5 ms response time ensures reduced lag and ghosting when viewing movies and videos and with support for up to 1.07 billion colors, photos and other content can be displayed with increased color accuracy. Setup is simple as the XR342CK comes equipped with HDMI and DisplayPort connectors as well as a built-in USB 3.0 port for added convenience when connecting USB compatible peripherals to your computer. Once configured this IPS (In-Plane Switching) display can be titled into place and the height can be adjusted up to 5.12" for improved viewing comfort.

    Acer XR342CK reviews

    XR342CK 34" 21:9 Curved IPS Monitor is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great monitor This replaced 2 monitors: A 144Hz 27 1080p Acer gaming monitor and a vertically mounted 20 Dell. Overall I'm very happy. Pros: 1. Huge amount of real estate. Now instead of snapping two windows side by side I have 4 and it works pretty well. With few exceptions it is almost like having 2 monitors without bezels side by side. Exceptions are applications that don't scale well when their windows are resized like remote desktop client. 2. Colors are fantastic and I didn't notice any difference between refresh rate of 144Hz (old monitor) and 75Hz (this one). 3. Gaming @ 21:9 is great. I really only play one game (Dota 2,) but it works really well. Everything scaled correctly and 1050Ti in my laptop easily maintains 80-90fps @ 3440 x 1440 with decent quality settings. Make sure you use DP cable since HDMI performance was very poor; I suspect because laptop was using Intel video card over HDMI. 4. It has built-in ambient light to lighten the area behind and below the monitor and make it easier on the eyes to work/play in dark rooms. I actually use Lightpack already, but it is a nice touch. Cons: 1. Hard to find content that scales well to ultrawide 21:9. 4K videos actually look great with VLC cropping the black bars, but it does take a lot of processing power in real time so I just re-encode in advance to fit the resolution. 2. Not really a con since this is a personal preference, but at default brightness but at default brightness this will annihilate your retinas. Even in Eco mode I had to reduce brightness quite a bit.
