This Cokin P Series Hard-Edge Graduated Neutral Density Filter Kit contains three filters that can be used individually or in various combinations to improve the results of your landscape photography by preventing overexposure in specific areas of an image, such as bright skies, while allowing for a normal, unaffected exposure in the other regions of the image. The included filters consist of 84 x 100mm graduated neutral density filters that reduce the amount of light entering a lens by up to one, two, and three stops, respectively. Each filter is densest at the edge and tapers to clear by the middle, with a hard-edged line of transition between the dense and clear areas. A graduated neutral density filter with a hard-edged line of transition is useful for images which include defined horizon lines. Together, these filters provide a versatile solution for various lighting conditions. To allow these filters to be placed in front of a lens, a separately-available Cokin P Series filter holder and a Cokin P Series lens adapter ring are required. Each filter is made of durable, optical resin (CR39) and measures 1.6mm thick.

    This Cokin P Series Hard-Edge Graduated Neutral Density 0.3 Filter is designed for use with a Cokin P Series Filter Holder. It helps to darken specific areas of an image, such as bright skies, while allowing for a normal, unaffected exposure in the other regions of the image. The filter is densest at the edge and tapers to clear by the middle, with a hard-edged line of transition between the dense and clear areas. A neutral density filter with a hard-edged line of transition is useful for images which include defined horizon lines. Neutral density filters do not affect the coloration of the image and this filter provides up to a 1-stop reduction in light from entering a lens.

    This filter is made of durable, optical resin (CR39) and measures 1.6mm thick.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Review for 1, 2 and 3 stop, hard, GND filters First, I am brand new to filter use. I picked up the 1, 2 and 3 stop hard GND filters just before a recent trip to Costa Rica. I have nothing to compare them to except for the results in other images that I have seen posted by other users and/or YouTube videos. I used them with a Nikon D7100 and AF-S Nikkor 20 mm lens with a BW circular polarizer fastened to the lens and the Cokin adapter fastened to that, right, wrong or indifferent. I expected the hard edge to be a bit more defined but they seemed to get the job done nonetheless. I did notice vignetting in some but not all of the photos. If you're like me and just getting into filter use and don't want to break the bank then I think these filters are worth the try. I am curious to see if the Lee filters are that much better.
