Bering Optics' PVS-7BE 1x22 3rd Gen Thin Film Night Vision Binocular & Headgear Kit offers a versatile, compact, and rugged night vision device that can be used handheld, mounted to a helmet, or worn with the included headgear. It features a 3rd generation intensifier tube with an autogated power supply and a thin film microchannel plate. This third generation device offers a great advantage over second generation tubes in terms of greater sensitivity and higher gain. Its thin film serves as a protection barrier for the microchannel plate and improves tube life. The gain control of this tube type is manual, which allows an operator to have a full control of the trade-off between amount of detail and image brightness. To maximize image brightness in nearly-total darkness, the device carries a built-in infrared illuminator that casts extra infrared light on your targets. To add convenience and stealth for tactical applications, the device offers an activation status indicator and an automatic off function when you turn it up or take of off your headgear. The 1x lens system, upgradable to higher magnifications with optional lenses, offers a wide 40° field of view and an ultra-short minimal focusing distance of 10".
The housing is made of lightweight and impact-resistant polymer, offers fogproof and waterproof performance, and provides protection from adverse conditions and extreme temperatures. To prevent a spill-over of light from the intensifier tube and to provide a comfortable cushion between your eyes and the eyepieces, the eyepieces offer wide winged rubber eyecups. The body is ergonomic, has knurled adjustment rings, and has a 1/4"-20 socket for mounting the device on a tripod.
