The 17.3" ProBook 470 G3 Notebook from HP provides you with the performance and security features needed for a modern professional. It features a sleek yet tough design so you can work in or out of the office. Powered by a 2.3 GHz Intel Core i5-6200U Dual-Core processor and 8GB of 2133 MHz DDR4 RAM, the ProBook 470 can efficiently multitask as well as quickly access frequently used files and programs. When handling a heavier workload, the CPU can reach up to 2.8 GHz with Intel Turbo Boost technology. For security, a Trusted Platform Module (TPM) chip is embedded within the system which protects your data with hardware-based encryption keys. Additionally, HP BIOSphere adds another layer of protection with customizable authentication and BIOS-level passwords.

Its 17.3" anti-glare SVA display, driven by dedicated AMD Radeon R7 graphics and 1GB of discrete DDR3 VRAM, has a HD+ 1600 x 900 resolution for crisp and clear HD content. By connecting external displays using its HDMI port, which supports resolutions up to 4096 x 2160 @ 24 Hz, and the VGA port, which supports resolutions up to 2048 x 1536 @ 60 Hz, you'll have an easier time multitasking for a more efficient and productive workflow. Keep your files stored in its 500GB 5400 rpm SATA SSHD, which is a hybrid drive that features a combination of SSD technology and the HDD platform for a speedy, large capacity drive. With it, you'll be able to boot and load files in seconds rather than in minutes. Should you run out of hard drive space, you can connect external storage devices using its two USB 3.0 Type-A and two USB 2.0 Type-A ports as well as its SD/SDHC/SDXC media card reader, which can be also used to quickly transfer files from mobile devices.

Access the Internet via 802.11a/b/g/n Wi-Fi or the Gigabit Ethernet port for a more reliable and stable wired connection. Other integrated features include a SuperMulti DVD drive, Bluetooth 4.0, dual microphones, stereo speakers, a 720p webcam, and a headphone/mic combo jack. The operating system installed is Windows 7 Pro (64-bit) and it comes with a Windows 10 Pro (64-bit) upgrade license, as well as Windows 7 Pro (64-bit) recovery media. The 17.3" ProBook 470 G3 Notebook is powered by a 4-cell / 44Wh Lithium ion battery that lasts for up to 9 hours before recharging is required. The system can be charged in up to 3 hours and lasts for up to 15 days on standby. Also included is a 65W AC power adapter.

General Features

Passed MIL-STD 810G testing, which ensures it can withstand workplace accidents.
Trusted Platform Module (TPM) keeps your data protected with hardware-based encryption keys.
Backlit spill resistant keyboard enables you to type in dimly lit environments and easily clean it in case of spills.
HP BIOSphere boosts security and keeps mission-critical data and systems under lock and key with customizable authentication and BIOS-level passwords.

Windows 10 Pro (64-bit)

Windows 7 Professional 64 (available through downgrade rights from Windows 10 Pro)
This system is preinstalled with Windows 7 Professional software and also comes with a license and media for Windows 10 Pro software. You may use only one version of the Windows software at a time. Switching between versions will require you to uninstall one version and install the other version. You must back up all data (files, photos, etc.) before uninstalling and installing operating systems to avoid loss of your data.
Start Menu
After its hiatus in Windows 8, the Start Menu has returned. Utilizing a combination of the traditional menu system and Windows 8's Live Tiles, the improved Start Menu gives you more information at a glance, showing notification information alongside your applications and other pinned items.
Microsoft's digital personal assistant, Cortana can answer your questions with information gleaned from both your device and the internet at large. You can type or even talk with her, if your system has a microphone. Using her Notebook, Cortana keeps track of your needs and wants, and she learns over time to improve her information gathering skills.
Microsoft Edge
After nearly 20 years, Microsoft has finally replaced its Internet Explorer web browser. With Microsoft Edge, users can write directly on web pages and share notes with friends and colleagues. It also improves the online reading experience by adding a distraction-free mode and read-it-later functionality. Edge also has built-in Cortana integration; you can have her help you find a restaurant, make a reservation, and pull up directions without leaving your browser.
Windows Store
For Windows 10, Microsoft has unified the Windows Store. Now, apps for PCs, tablets, and phones will all be accessible from one place. And with support for Universal Apps, one version of an app can work across all your compatible devices automatically.
Windows Continuum
Windows 10 was designed for a variety of screen sizes and input styles, and with its Continuum feature, it automatically adapts to fit your needs. A Windows 10 tablet on its own requires a touch-centric approach, but attaching a mouse and keyboard will shift everything to a more traditional interface. You can even attach an external monitor to your Windows 10 phone for a near-desktop experience. But it's not just the operating system; Windows Universal Apps take advantage of Continuum as well.
Xbox on Windows 10
Gaming is a big focus of Windows 10. Xbox integration allows for PC players to match up against Xbox One players on supported games, and if you have an Xbox One, you can even stream compatible titles to your PC. Native support for recording with the new Game DVR feature makes it easy to capture and share your gameplay. The new DirectX12 takes better advantage of multi-core processors, giving games a performance boost, even on older hardware. Windows 10 also features native support for virtual reality headsets, such as the Oculus Rift.
Windows 10 Pro
The Pro version of Windows 10 includes all of the features of Windows 10 Home plus many designed specifically for businesses users, including Hyper-V virtualization, BitLocker disk encryption, and remote desktop access. Devices will also be able to join domains and the Azure Active Directory, and they can even access a specialized version of the Windows Store featuring custom, company-specific applications.
