The black RF-PBO-16 Premium Reflection Filter from Auray is constructed with rugged ABS plastic and employs high-density open-cell acoustic foam to absorb unwanted ambient noise and control acoustic reflections. It can be used by music producers, engineers, and broadcasters in recording applications for vocals, voiceovers, or podcasts, in a studio or acoustically untreated space.

The filter's high-density open-cell acoustic foam absorbs sound, and its additional inner-acoustic layers combine for isolation with near-zero coloration. The vented shield creates a more open sound while it prevents bounce-back reflections. Additionally, the RF-PBO-16 is compatible with most 5/8" mic stands and shockmounts, and works in an inverted position with a mic stand or a studio boom.

Advanced Acoustic Isolation
The RF-PBO-16's multilayer design isolates the microphone and minimizes ambient noise and acoustic reflections that occur in rooms without adequate acoustic treatment. Music producers, broadcasters, and podcasters can all benefit from the mic isolation that this reflection filter offers.
Vented Back
The vented back reduces sonic coloration, but it lets the sound of the voice pass through to prevent bounce-back reflections that can compromise even the best takes. The result is an open and natural sound for your recording.
Acoustic Foam
To make sure the sound of the voice is the only sound that reaches your microphone, the filter employs a thick layer of high-density open-cell acoustic foam to absorb extraneous sound and room noise.
Mountable
A standard 5/8" threaded mount makes this isolation filter compatible with most mic stands, shockmounts, and mic clips. The included mounting hardware lets you use a mic boom to mount the RF-PBO-16 with inverted orientation.
Lightweight and Rugged
The ABS plastic shield is light enough for travel, but solid enough that it can withstand the rigors of transport and demanding studio use.

Just What I Needed!

So happy with this purchase! I was looking for something to purchase for a music program I'm starting with a non-profit that wouldn't break the bank, this was exactly what I needed. Where we are recording is not ideal, but it's a start and I needed something that would help in some of the noise coming from the room next to our studio. This is just perfect! The kids, (they are adults, but to me they are my kids) love it as well. I wanted them to feel like they were in a real recording studio and this helps in giving them that. Built quality is great and I especially like the adapter that allows you to only need one stand, unlike the one I have at home where I have one stand for the mic and one for the reflector, since we are on a super small budget this really helps eliminate the need for another stand.

This puppy is big!!!

I guess I did not realize how big this thing is! Using it with the Auray Desktop Mic Stand and my Blue Yeti with the Blue Shock Mount. All together it makes for a rather large bit of apparatus. I would have like to see a different method of tightening the arm. When I go to turn it to tighten, EVERYTHING moves with it! Maybe an adjustment nut?

Does its job; a little fiddly.

The audio quality of my podcast recordings went up noticeably after I stalled this reflection filter. I'm recording from a spare bedroom with mostly bare walls due to COVID-19 and this really helped to cut down on some of the extra noise. I dinged it one star for being fiddly to set up. The knobs to tighten and loosen the forward/back motion of the filter were annoying to get exactly where I wanted them to be, but are holding now that they are there.

Good because it's big and heavy.

It's a beast but I think it does a better job of isolation in a bad room. It is big and heavy and comes in a big box but he mounting hardware is up to the task. Not very portable but you're in the studio right? You might need some extras for your mic or pop filter but that's not a problem. I think it's a great deal, on sale.
