Evo Grid 3 from Spitfire Audio is a Kontakt-powered virtual instrument with a library that consists of a small chamber string orchestra playing hyper-long evolving motions and rhythms with repeated phrasing on the same note, that change subtly or radically over time before returning to their original state. Orchestrated by Ben Foskett, it gives composers and arrangers sophisticated and organic orchestral textures in the styles of Steve Reich, Terry Riley, John Adams, and Arvo Part, ideal for film scores, music productions, soundtracks, games, and more.
Evo Grid 3 offers a 36.8GB library with 3616 samples and 37 unique Evolutions arranged in three categories: Straight, Tense, and Scary. All motions are tempo-locked to your host DAW tempo and mapped to different sections of the keyboard using the Evo Grid. Interesting combinations of sounds can be instantly generated by randomizing the selection using the Dice at the top of the grid.
The chamber orchestra was recorded in the acoustically dry environment of Air-Edel studios, London. The detailed and versatile samples were captured using four different microphone signals: Close, Sweet Loops, Completely Varped, and Stretched.
