  • 1Description

The TorchLED Bolt 250 On-Camera Light from Core SWX provides a 250W-equivalent light output in a form 40% slimmer than its Bolt 220R predecessor. A single dial controls the Bolt 250's 3200-5600K color temperature range - dimmable from 0-100%. The TorchLED Bolt 250 draws 13W of power and is compatible with Sony L-series type batteries. The included D-tap power cable enables the use of longer-lasting 14.4V brick batteries.

The TorchLED Bolt 250's 9-channel remote allows users to control the light from up to 250' away (non– line-of-sight). On/off powering, color temperature, and light intensity can be controlled remotely. Up to 10 lights can be banked to one channel for uniform control. The TorchLED Bolt 250 includes a 1/4"-20 ball-head to hot-shoe mount, an L-series battery with charger, and a magnetic diffusion filter.

    Core SWX TL-BT250 reviews

TorchLED Bolt 250W On-Camera Light is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 18.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Improvement from the original, which was already awesome! I had the original 220R Led's for the last year or so and they've been incredible lights. Being able to have powerful, small, compact LED lights with temperature control is the most convenient thing imaginable. I've used these for every type of shoot, and they are perfect every time. The new model is even smaller in size (about 50% smaller), and yet it's even more powerful. I'm very happy with them. I did a comparison video on youtube, you can check it out there.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Improvement, I love it I have been waitinng this light for a long time , I can not wait to say that I had extremely happy experience with this light , much much higher output , much higher CRI , super slim and very well built, the battery compartment was improved so much makings the attachment and removal of battery much much easier than previous model. I have to say that this light was originally designed as a spot direct light with very small power draw but high output , it also gives you a soft even option with the frosted megnetic diffuser when you need a soft light. Surely the light might be less intensive with the diffuser on , but that is how a diffuser works. In addition , the color range of BT250 seems little bit warmer than its predecessor . As a professional and experienced videographer , I like the color has the potential to be warmer rather than too much white .

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Extremely good spotlighting I bought this product with the hope that I could use it to match the colour of the light coming down through rain forest. The Bolt does this very well indeed and the infinitely variable power let me boost/cut the light so that it's indistinguishable from what was naturally available. It worked excellently, more than meeting my needs. The spotlighting it created carries a long way and ended up looking very natural. The quality of the light is very agreeable, looking very rich, but allowing subtle tone variations to shine through. It's just the thing for videoing birds of paradise and other birdlife found near the forest floor. When I ordered it, I was surprised how quickly the dispatched message came through. It arrived double packed and once again, B&H have proven their commitment to great quality at a good price.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great, With One Big Issue I've been using the Bolt series of lights since the 220 and I've always liked the output - especially given the unit's size - battery life and reliability. The first unit I ever purchased is still working. This newest version is substantially smaller, lighter and has more output. Yes, without the diffuser it's a pretty narrow beam, but I don't mind that since I often need just a bit of fill on a single face being shot outside, and this can do that. The flatter knobs are nice and though the case is plastic, it now has a metal frame so the 1/4-20 mount point is much stronger. For me, the big fail on this model is the magnetically attached diffuser. I'm running around at live events and the light is in and out of pockets and bags, which means the little diffuser is constantly being knocked off. I think a better design would have been to recess the four magnets in the light housing so the diffuser couldn't slide side to side (or up and down). As it is, I'll probably have to resort to Velcro.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great but design flaw One of the best portable lights I've used. The magnets are not strong enough and my diffuser kept falling off. Until one day it fell off and I didnt even realize it and I lost it. Without the diffuser, the light has a spotlight effect.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from THE BEST OF THE BEST. This light is just simply amazing. Best light I have ever owned and I have been shooting for 43 years. Was fearful the LED' would not carry any distance. Boy was I wrong. I shoot spot news and am always out in the field at accidents, fires and whatever. Super bright light that carries a great distance and just the right width. Would never even think of any other light again. Worth every penny.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great lights for interviews and weddings I recently bought these from B&H on the deal zone and purchased 3 of them. I have to say, my interviews have gone to a different level, they are easy to setup, lightweight and last forever on Sony NPF-970 batteries which I have about 20 of. I combine these in different scenarios with a Dracast Silkray and produce some great interviews and I get great success for weddings as hair light and fill lights for toast and speeches. Like the other said, the magnet diffusers are flimsy, but the light quality, output, features and long battery life out weigh the cons and let me keep 5 stars. After using these, it's hard to use anything else.
