    Sony PS-HX500 reviews

PS-HX500 Stereo Turntable with USB is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from vinyl sound experience Sony PS-HX500 Stereo Turntable has performed to expectations! If I could have afforded high end/>$1000. turntable, would have done so. Needed something midrange in cost with USB to record best sound files and this unit really performs well. If you need to hear what you heard from higher end stereo equipment prior to CDs and MP3s, this turntable won't disappoint. Separation between vocals, instruments, highs and lows excellent. Test album was Dire Straits - So Far Away.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing!! Amazing and so simple. All you need for a turntable. And it's such a beautiful design ! I connected it to old speakers to try it out bc I have yet to buy the speakers that go with this and the sound is MIND BLOWING. So clear and perfect. Best purchase !

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Versatile and easy to setup I purchased the turntable to replace my 40-year old B&O 4004's radial arm motor finally failed. I am using it to record my collection of vinyl records to CD through my pre-amp/amplifier directly so I am not using the software to produce wave files and cannot comment on that (which is probably why most people would buy this turntable. However, the turntable seems stable with low wow and flutter and a reasonable cartridge that I am using to track at 2 grams (measured by a separate scale) and have no difficulty tracking my records. The only shortcoming is the cueing lever which is under-engineered and not dampened but workable with some reasonable care. The only other fault is the rubber turntable pad which attracts dust and is difficult to clean. Overall a good choice if the use justifies the price.
