question

what remote is available for sony a7rii users and this system before the air remote is released?
Asked by: daniel g.
Besides the Profoto Air Remote TTL-S for Sony B&H # PRARTTLS, which will give you TTL control from your A7R II, there is also the Profoto Air Remote Transceiver B&H # PRAR, which allows for manual control of the power output and allows you to trigger the D2 heads wirelessly. I have the D1 Air 500. The power cord often comes a little loose, causing me to lose power, especially when I have the strobe in almost vertical position. I've tried taping the cord in place, but it still comes loose. Does anyone else have this problem? I wonder if this right angle type of plug would help. Might be easier to secure with tape. It's so much cheaper than the Profoto cord, but I assume it would work just as well, right? https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/917037-REG/c2g_27909_10_18_awg_universal.html

Thank you, Reuben, for steering me away from the lightweight cable. I had been looking for one with a right angle plug, that's why I was considering that one. I see now that with the Profoto power cord, if I loop the cord through the handle on the strobe and tape it there, the plug does not come out when I reposition strobe.

question

will the Profoto D2 Hyper sync with my Pentax 645 Z ?
Asked by: Gerardo E.
Hypersync would be a feature available on the Pocket Wizard Mini and Flex system, which is only compatible with Canon or Nikon cameras. The same would apply for the Profoto Air TTL-C and TTL-N transmitters which also work only with Canon or Nikon and which uses high speed sync.

Asked by: John
Being that the Profoto D2 has a 300 watt halogen modeling lamp is it not recommended for use with the Profoto OCF series modifiers due to a issue with heat.

I’m currently using a D1/500 with the Air Remote TTL-N. Will the D2 fire wireless in tandem with this set up?

You have to also connect the D2 Fixture in the same Group, or it's own channel.
