Using the Circle with Disney Parental Control Device from Circle, it is possible to manage the connectivity of all your home's devices, regardless of whether they use a wired or wireless connection. Using the Circle, parents can filter content, limit screen time, and set a bedtime for every device in the home, including laptops, tablets, desktop computers, streaming boxes, game consoles, smartphones, smart home devices, iPods, Smart TVs, and more.
The Circle isn't a router, but pairs with yours using either 10/100 Fast Ethernet connectivity or 2.4 GHz 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi to manage all website requests from all the devices in a home. Using the Circle app, families can create individual profiles for each user, ensuring that each person has an experience designed just for them. Once each account has been configured, each user's settings will kick in. If a request is allowed, all the web traffic goes directly from the home network to the device. However, please bear in mind that guest networks and sub-networks of your home Wi-Fi are not managed.
It is also possible to set daily time limits for each user on any app, platform, or category. Using Time Limits, you can customize how much time is spent on any given platform, such as Facebook or Netflix, and even set a total online time for the day. Additionally, using BedTime, each device can be set to disconnect from and reconnect to the Internet at defined times. For more information on network use, Insights makes it possible to see where everyone spends their time online and organizes this information by platform, category, and website for each user's total time spent online and where, either by the day, week, or month.
Using the Filter function, individual filter levels may be set for each family member. Circle has four preset age levels and allows for further customization by platform, app, and category. Choose a level that matches each family member's age and interests, helping to filter out inappropriate content.
If you've ever struggled with people choosing Internet time over family time, the Circle helps to resolve this using its pause button. Whether its dinner time or "just because" time, Internet connectivity can be put on hold, disabling access to a specific device, a specific individual, or the entire house.
The Circle operates using a 100-240V power supply. In the case of a power outage, or if it needs to be moved around, it can also be operated using an integrated rechargeable Lithium-ion battery. If the Circle is turned off, the admins will receive a notification. Included is an Ethernet cable, a micro-USB cable, and a USB power adapter.
