Designed as a compact, walk-around prime, the black XF 23mm f/2 R WR from FUJIFILM is a versatile 35mm-equivalent lens characterized by its f/2 maximum aperture that strikes and ideal balance between portability and speed. The optical design features two aspherical elements to reduce distortion and spherical aberrations in order to produce greater sharpness and accurate rendering. A Super EBC coating is also used to control flare and ghosting for improved contrast and color fidelity when working in bright and backlit conditions. Complementing the optics is a stepping motor, along with an internal focusing design, which provides quick and especially quiet focusing performance. Additionally, the lens is weather-sealed to suit working in inclement conditions.

FUJIFILM XF 23mm f/2 R WR Reviews
Love it!
I’m downsizing from the XH2S to the XS20 so I bought the smaller 23mm f/2 to combine with my 18-55 for a compact travel kit. I found the fujifilm 27 2.8 pancake to be noisy on the XS20 (not so on the 2S). This 23mm is very light and appears to be very sharp. I sold my larger lenses to BH Photo and made enough to pay for the XS20 and the 23mm lens, with change to spare.
Decent
Image quality isn't signifcantly better than the 18-55 kit. But it is smaller and better for low light situations.
Favorite lens
This is probably one of my all-time fave lenses. I've used it on the XT2, 3 and 4, and it pretty much stays on all the time. Great for candid, travel, even some pro work.
One of my all-time faves
Just can't say enough how much I adore this lens. Really versatile, the perfect default carry-around lens on my XT4 and XT5.
Lens are great
Perfect size for street photography + landscape. If your comfortable, you can get away with creating portraits as well!
One of favorite base lenses
This and the newer 33mm Fuji lens live on my XT5 all the time. Can't go wrong with it.
Lightweight & Sharp!
I love this lens. Use it on my X-T5 as a general walk around/travel lens. I bought the silver so I always know which one it is when retrieving quickly from my camera bag. Autofocus is fast. I use back button autofocus. The 35mm equivalent is perfect for travel. With the 40 megapixel sensor of the X-T5 you can always crop if need be. F2 is plenty fast enough. You can use it indoors as well by bumping up the ISO a bit. Not a problem anymore using the new Lightroom Denoise AI, DxO PureRaw, Topaz, etc. I am loving these Fuji primes. Just sold my XF 18-135. It's a great lens for events. I'll just rent one if I need to. As usual, super fast shipping from B & H.
A news photographers lens
I shot for a weekly newspaper for ten years, freelance to magazines for more than that, and over 50 weddings. This was my go to focal length (35mm equivalent). It is a story telling lens. Great for street, travel, etc. I have it mounted on either my Pro 2 or XT-20. On the silver XT-20 people think I am shooting film. Only con, not sharp wide open but f/4 and above a stellar lens, first Len most people should buy. Far more useful than a zoom.
