Increase the range of your Canon EF/EF-S lenses with this TELEPLUS HD DGX 1.4x Teleconverter from Kenko. Featuring a 1.4x magnification, this accessory can transform your 300mm lens into an effective 420mm option. Because it has electronic contacts, full communication is supported between the lens and camera; including metering, autofocus, and image stabilization. This model also has enhanced EXIF data; which writes equivalent focal length and aperture information. A digital multi-coating helps reduce flare and ghosting in your images.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A niche product with no competitors. I got this to replace my Kenko 300DGX 1.4 TC, which has served me well. Unfortunately, whilst it was happy on the 7D & 6D, it absolutely hated my 7D MkII. So it meant I would have to lash out on something like the Canon 1.4 MkIII TC, which works very well on my 100-400mm lens. What makes this product unique is that it works on EF-s lenses. This is a real biggie for me, as it has finally allowed me to travel light. So instead of having to lug around my favourite 100-400mm all the time, I can pack light if it's not a big event and use the 55-250, bring it out to a 350mm F8 lens, and it will still AF on the original 7D. So I can now carry one TC for all 3 Bodies. And travelling light on flights is a real possibility. That's the good. The pitfalls I can live with, but here they are. The circuitry that fools the lenses on the 7D & 6D to AF @ F8 is great, but unlike the 300DGX and all the Canons etc., it doesn't declare it is there. Sure, it does the math for Lens length, as well as dropping an F-stop, so it will correctly identify that you are shooting the 55-250mm lens @350mm, but as far as MF is concerned, it's the same lens. Which is it's only failing, as the MF moved 11 positions when it is in. So it isn't just a case of putting it on, I have to change the MF manually from -1 (T) to +11 (T) to ensure it's sharp. And remember to set it back when I finish using it. Which is a pain! I found this out when MF'ing the lens with Focal. It really hates it, and runs dead slow telling me the focal length error (350mm on a 250mm Lens), but the lens descriptor still thinks it's the same lens without a TC. If this was addressed, I'd be even happier. So it still worked out the MF setting for me, but I chose not to have it change it, and do it now whenever I need to use it. I have also had it run no problems on the 80D of a friend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Extends EF-S STM lenses with little fuss This basic 1.4x teleconverter lives up to expectations. I bought it to expand the reach of my Canon EF-S 55-250mm STM lens while losing only one stop in speed (it would go from f/5.6 to f/8 at 250mm) instead of 2 stops with a 2x extender. And it works -- fits snugly enough on the camera body, matches well in mounting the lens, and, most importantly, enables autofocus for video. Resulting image quality is acceptable.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Is not compatable This tele-converter will not work with my Canon 80D and either one of my Tamron lens, 16-300 or 150-600. Am returning to B&H.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Delivers as advertised Moving to a 5D Mk. 3, my Sigma 14-28mm Wide EF-S was going to have issues with full frame, until I read about people using the Kenko HD DGX 1.4 teleconverter. Wow, it works amazing well and I now keep it on my Sigma lens ready to go.
