    Cineroid L10-BC reviews

L10-BC 18W On-Camera Variable Color Temperature LED Light is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for Low Level Lighting at night. I use the light for Landscape Astrophotography, using it for Low Level Lighting of the landscape. It is the best light panel I have found for this purpose. It is small, portable, light, powerful, and dims down enough to be useful many lights are too bright at night. This one dims down more than most. Also, many variable color temperature lights only go as low as 3200K which is sometimes not warm enough for certain scenes. This light goes down to 2700K which works well for warm scenes. Highly recommended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from extremely powerful for its size, wide CCT range PROS: -the fact that the tungsten emitters are calibrated to 2700K was one of the biggest deciding factors in choosing this unit over the competition; most other units from competitors in this price range only hit 3200K or 3000K, which I find is inadequate to match tungsten environments on location with lots of houselamps and other dimmed tungsten bulbs. I hate dealing with gels to correct colour and wanted a unit that had a wide bicolour range. -the extremely high output in a compact form factor was the second biggest factor in my purchasing decision -CRI values are between 92-95 according to the company, so everything looks great. no green spikes. CONS: -the LED emitters are completely exposed to physical damage, it would be nice to have an integral hard transparent protective sheet over them -I'm a little worried about long term wear and tear on the DC barrel plug coming out of the battery plate, because it sticks outin a U-shape into open space. -I wish the colour temperature dial had just a few important colour temperatures marked and the rest of the range left blank. Because if I order one of my lighting techs to set the unit to a specific colour temperature, they have to either roughly match it to an existing source by eye, or else do a bunch of math to figure it out was the 0-9 scale correlates to. The important colour temperatures I would suggest to be marked would be: 2700K, 3200K, 4100K, 5000K, 5600K, 6500K, and even if they were abbreviated as 27, 32, 41, 50, 56, 65 I think it would still be more intuitive than 0-9 -I find the 0-9 labelling on the control dials unintuitive; if not with exact colour temperature labels, as a next best solution I would've made the labelling 0-10 given that most other LED units I work with in Canada have their maximum labelled as 100%. This is a minor user experience concern because i usually have a team of lighting technicians working under me who would be operating this light and would not necessarily know about the 0-9 scale.
