Start saving your precious memories and critical files with the 1TB My Passport USB 3.0 Secure Portable Hard Drive from WD. The My Passport comes formatted for Windows systems and connects to your notebook or desktop computer via an included USB 3.0 cable. On the inside, it sports a hard drive that delivers 1TB of storage capacity for storing your photos, videos, music, and other content. To power this drive, the My Passport runs off the computer's USB bus-powered port.

This edition of the My Passport drive comes with a redesigned orange chassis, which complements your other gear. Another notable feature is WD's Backup software, which lets you create scheduled backups, to help preserve your data automatically. In addition to backing up data, WD has armed this drive with hardware encryption and WD Security software to safeguard your sensitive files from unauthorized users.

General Features

Back up Automatically
The My Passport drive comes preloaded with WD Backup software to ensure that your photos, videos, music and documents don't get lost. You can set it to run automatically based upon your schedule. Just pick the time and frequency to back up important files from your system onto the My Passport drive.
Password Protection with Hardware Encryption
The My Passport drive's built-in 256-bit AES Hardware Encryption with WD Security software helps keep your content private and safe. You can activate password protection and set your own personalized password. Additionally, the drive can display a "return-if-found" message as the password prompt to help find its way back to you if it ever accidentally gets left behind.
Easy to Use
My Passport portable storage is ready to use out of the box so you can start transferring files, saving your memories, and backing up critical data right away. It comes with WD Backup, WD Security, and WD Drive Utilities software to help protect your data.

    WD WDBYNN0010BOR-WESN reviews

1TB My Passport USB 3.0 Secure Portable Hard Drive (Orange) is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 60.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Works for Windows 10 - Difficult to use for Windows XP I bought this drive to transfer files from my old Windows XP Professional Computer to my new computer running on Windows 10. Since Win XP can only see drives up to 2 Tb, I bought this small 1 Tb drive to make sure the transfer would go without problems. Was I wrong !!! The Windows 10 computer will see the drive without problems. The XP computer recognized the drive, but would not see it, due to the "GPT Protective Partition". Re-formatting the drive with the Win 10 computer did not help. After a complicated removal procedure of the GPT partition, I was finally able to use the drive for the intended purpose. Verdict: OK to use on Windows 10, pain-in-the-butt for Windows XP use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding image quality No, this is not a gaming monitor. VA panels offer tremendous contrast and you can get very accurate colors, but the pixels don't turn on and off as fast as other technologies. It's phenomenal for photography, and almost as good for video (extremely fast action has some choppiness), but the 3000:1 static contrast ratio is the reason to get this monitor. Benq also offers eye-care backlighting, which does not use flickering to control the intensity as other monitors do. Most people cannot see the flickering, but some get headaches from such backlighting. Even those who cannot discern the flicker can still benefit from the more natural lighting of the Benq models.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from saved my life Alright, so it didn't actually save my life, but it came in very handy during two power failures, one lasting seven hours. It's not an industrial size backup supply, but allowed us to keep our computers, phones and hotspot powered all day. It would be a handy thing to have in the trunk for camping or picnics.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It's a lot smaller than it looks in the pictures. It's a small portable drive that doesn't require external power and does what I ask of it. I have no complaints, it's a good drive. If I were to change anything, I'd tweak how the activity light works. It just blinks at a constant rate when the drive is accessed. It's really like it if the light better indicated the actual data access from and to the drive. There is a utility to turn off the light completely but that's really a solution.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Drive is fine-software and WD tech support is lacking The drive worked fine after I called tech support. WD Tech Support was not very helpful. The backup software is not very sophisticated. Am using the Windows 7 Back-Up Software instead.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from love it with one minor goof The 5th one I own. I love them. Never any problems & no issues. The one goof I made buying this time around was purchasing the PC version instead of a MAC version. Simply had to figure out how to reformat it which worked out just fine as now it is formatted so it can be read by both MACs and PCs. I use these to store pictures from sports photography business on them and as well as using two as back ups stored off site.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from WD 1TB My Passport Replacement for WD 500GB Passports I have two WD 500GB Passports which I bought at Costco and thought would suffice for quite some time, but building a personal library of my documents and books and building a law library has used up a sizeable portion of one of the 500 GB drives. And building a movie/video library has also used up a sizeable portion of the other 500 GB drive. Western Digital has long been a good drive, going back to the days when a WD 3.2GB was a big drive for me. I figure these WD drives (and perhaps some additional) will be part of the legacy I will Leave behind.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works Well, Sexy Colors I tested it out for a few weeks now and here don't seem to be any issues with freezing or losing the connection like my G-drive always did. And it way cheaper.
