Flexible Surround Sound Modes

In Bipole Mode, both sets of drivers are in phase; in Dipole Mode, both sets of drivers are out of phase; in Duet Mode, each set of drivers receives a discrete signal.

Duet Mode

Duet Mode is designed to simulate two separate speakers within one cabinet for simulated 7-channel surround sound with just two surround speakers instead of the more common four.

  • Vented voice coil formers to help minimize air compression artifacts at high drive levels

  • 2-way crossover with air-core inductors and heavy-trace printed circuit boards
  • Dual isolated crossover networks allow for bipole, dipole, or Duet mode
  • Crossover frequency and slopes optimized for off-axis polar response, enhanced phase coherency, and total radiated sound power

Cabinet Features

  • Non-parallel cabinet panels designed to reduce axial standing waves within the cabinet, reducing frequency response coloration
  • Acoustically transparent and FEA-optimized grilles, wedge-shaped front baffle, and flush-mounted drivers all contribute to reduced edge diffraction and enhanced on-axis high frequency response
