HP Chromebook 13 G1 Overview

Built for collaboration, the 13.3" 32GB Chromebook 13 G1 from HP is designed for a Web-optimized experience. With its user-friendly interface, the HP Chromebook 13 G1 offers a unique computing experience that is enhanced by the Internet, providing professionals with a simple, secure, and easily managed cloud-based experience..

This HP Chromebook has a 13.3" UWVA eDP BrightView display with a 16:9 aspect ratio, a QHD+ 3200 x 1800 native resolution, and WLED backlighting, all of which are powered by integrated Intel HD 515 graphics. 4K video may be output over DisplayPort or HDMI with an optional USB Type-C video adapter cable.

The system is powered by a 1.5 GHz Intel Pentium 4405Y Dual-Core processor. It also has 4GB of 1866 MHz LPDDR3 RAM, 32GB of eMMC storage, 802.11ac Wi-Fi, an integrated 720p front-facing webcam, and dual integrated microphones. There are also built-in stereo speakers that are powered using audio by B&O Play, and a 3-in-1 media card reader that supports microSD/SDHC/SDXC cards and the UHS-I bus. External peripherals, such as extra storage, optical drives, mice, and more may be connected using the two USB 3.0 Type-C and one USB 3.0 Type-A ports, while additional compatible peripherals may be paired using Bluetooth 4.2 technology.

Google Chrome OS is a Linux-based operating system designed by Google to work exclusively with web applications. The HP Chromebook 13 G1 combines the aspects of a pure cloud client with the hardware of a traditional portable computer, which puts it in its very own class of netbook and notebook computers. Included with this Chromebook is a 45W USB Type-C AC adapter and a 5.9' power cord. Its rechargeable Lithium-ion polymer battery that lasts for up to 8.25 hours before recharging is required.

Please note that in order to take full advantage of Chrome OS, you will need to be connected to the Internet.

USB 3.0 Type-C & Type-A Ports
The two USB 3.0 Type-C charging ports support power delivery, video, and data up to 5 Gb/s. They also support 4K display output with an optional HDMI or DisplayPort adapter, as well as 45W charging using the included USB Type-C AC adapter. There is also one USB 3.0 Type-A port. Please note that each USB 3.0 Type-C charging port delivers power to the Chromebook individually, not when using both at once.

802.11ac Wi-Fi
This Chromebook supports 802.11ac Wi-Fi, allowing users to browse the web or stream videos and music.
Bluetooth 4.2
Built-in Bluetooth 4.2 technology can be used to pair this system with compatible peripherals, such as keyboards, mice, headsets, and more.

The HP Chromebook 13 is compatible with several high-performance enterprise virtual desktop environments and VPN tools.
Chrome OS
Using Linux as a base, Google designed Chrome OS to work exclusively with web applications. The user interface takes a minimalist approach, which greatly resembles the Google Chrome web browser. Chrome OS was built for people who spend a majority, if not all, of their time on the computer connected to the Internet. The only application that comes installed on Chrome OS is a special Google Chrome web browser with an integrated media player and file manager. All other applications are accessed by adding apps from the Google Chrome Web Store. Since Chrome OS relies entirely on Google's web apps and access to Google's services, it is highly recommended that you connect to the Internet to optimize your Chrome OS experience.
