Chrome OS
Using Linux as a base, Google designed Chrome OS to work exclusively with web applications. The user interface takes a minimalist approach, which greatly resembles the Google Chrome web browser. Chrome OS was built for people who spend a majority, if not all, of their time on the computer connected to the Internet. The only application that comes installed on Chrome OS is a special Google Chrome web browser with an integrated media player and file manager. All other applications are accessed by adding apps from the Google Chrome Web Store. Since Chrome OS relies entirely on Google's web apps and access to Google's services, it is highly recommended that you connect to the Internet to optimize your Chrome OS experience.

    HP m3-6Y30 reviews

    13.3" 32GB Chromebook 13 G1 is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 12.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great chromebook I like it very much and just wanted to point out that I am one of those people who don't want a touch screen. Glad to see HP is offering this as a non-touch screen. Probably this is one of the reasons they were able to offer a premium product at a low price. Bravo HP!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Quality Chromebook with a minor problem The HP Chromebook 13 G1 (m3) is a high-quality Chromebook. It boots very quickly -- about 6 seconds from full off to the login screen. Operational performance is excellent, with almost instant opening of new tabs. The only minor flaw in my opinion is the trackpad. The force required to click is too high. When compared to a Macbook pro, it requires about twice the push effort to click, not terrible, but stiff. If you use tap-to-click, something I don't prefer myself, this is not a problem. Overall, it's a great Chromebook with an excellent display and build quality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Best ChromeBook on the market Coming from a old Acer Chromebook that worked great for $99, I decided to upgrade my laptop. I already had my work laptop to use Excel or Powerpoint. I needed just a amazing device that does what it's supposed to do. Be a great web browser with cloud add on's. The screen and keyboard feel amazing. I understand the complaints about the trackpad. I felt the clicking issue people mentioned, but I swear you don't even notice it after a few days of use. I think my body and fingers just adapt to the exact spot on the trackpad that provides the easiest click. I still don't understand much about the (3200 x 1800) resolution. You can't read any text at that setting. Maybe it makes it better when you hook up an external monitor? Either way the best Chromebook on the market.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Lemon? Or faulty design? I was excited to upgrade from my 2+ year old Acer chromebook with 2g/RAM with the 4g/m3 version of this. However, brand new out of the box, this thing runs so slow I questioned whether or not it actually has the correct processor inside. I soon discovered that it also runs so hot that I cannot have this on my lap, or even use it laying down. It's very nice to look at and well built, but function takes precedence, and I ultimately decided to RMA it due to these issues.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gorgeous and fast I love this chromebook. It is beautiful, light, and lightning fast. I adore hp (and google who partnered to make this) for adding the dual usb C ports. the addition of the usb a port does make sense though, and is much appreciated. This is the closest I have found to having a gaming chromebook. CPU intensive flash games run like a dream. I have yet to have this chromebook stutter. The keyboard, while reviewed by many professional sites as "soft", is, in my opinion, perfect for this device. It leaves it feeling even more light! The screen is stunning. This is improved by Chrome OS's new support for higher resolution displays. while the default resolution is listed as 1600*900, this is very misleading. The display is still full resolution (the background, for example, gets a large black box around it if you use a 1600x900 background a choose to not stretch it). This change in "resolution" serves the purpose of scaling up icons and text, while leaving the actual resolution the same for videos and the like. The touchpad is a bit irritating, but that is probably just because i dont like touchpads in general. Multitouch works fantastically, and it really improves page scrolling an multitasking. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with this purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Where is the touch screen? A great PC. It is few solid overall and surprisingly thin. The only complaint I have is that this Chromebook should absolutely have a touch screen. I don't understand why HP would make something all around excellent and then leave out a pretty obvious high end feature.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Good Product, few issues Quality product. Great feel, strong metal. Only problem is frequently shuts down while I'm using it for no apparent reason. Other than that, great product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great business class notebook, with one issue This Chromebook has a great build quality. It is thin and light. The display is at or near the top of the line. An all around solid business class device, which is timely as more and more businesses are moving to Chrome for the simplicity, security and cost effectiveness of the OS. My one issue is that I wish there was a touch screen with this device. It is difficult to go from touch to non-touch.
