Manfrotto Reloader-55 Reviews

I'm giddy !

I was recently at a one week photography workshop in Denver and I thought I was in love with my ThinkTank 20 (the taller one)...still am. But when I saw this, I knew I had to have it. What I thoroughly enjoy about the Manfrotto Pro Light Reloader-55 is that you can simply lay it on the floor, or your hotel bed (whatever), and open the entire thing up. It's like making a pizza. You can see the entirety of the "innards" as you choose the compartments and their many-many accompanying cushions/borders as you design them as you go. The above fact is already quite impressive - right? But here comes the tie-breaker. The wheels are NOT these cheap-o plastic thingys which most travel bags have and which will eventually wear out or break. Instead, they are REAL METAL WHEELS with REAL BALL BEARINGS! To beg the point, I asked the sales person if I could buy replacement parts just in case one or both of those wheels ever wore out. And she said YES! In fact, here is the part number in advance. File it away. SKU: MAN-MB ZZ-PL-045 - costs about $16.00 (sixteen dollars) per wheel. Oh, and did I mention that it fits ANY overhead compartment (small airplanes / big airplanes) of any airline! Trust me - I know.

Love it

Good bag. Enough room for carrying my Gh5-XT1-Nikon D700 2 lens for each camera_won't bore you what they are. Batteries, Flash, strap etc. and a Mono pad. Lock n Load. Sharp looking. Down side why I only gave it a 4 star. Handle extension is a little lose not firm and the zipper. You have to open it all the way the bottom and need a little motivation to get it unzipped all the way. For the price I guess it could be better in quality or sturdier. I bought it 'cause of the name but shop around if you want to buy one. Hopefully in a shop that has several camera roller bag to compare. Also if your buying this 'cause of the FREE mono pod call make sure they have it on stock. It could delay the shipping. I have to call B&H to find out why I did not received it with a 2 day ship. At least they one day shipped the bag.

I would buy this product again

Very well made, strong durable construction. My only suggestion would be to a smal zipper pocket on the outside near the top of the bag. The tripod pocket next best think. Fits my equipment nicely, should be a great travel bag.

Purchasing something on line that one doesn't have the opportunity to see in person and physically check out is always a bit of a gamble as you can't physically feel the quality and check out all of the details prior to purchasing. So I did the normal You Tube watching etc.. And decided on the Manfroto as I thought it would do well for my intended use of Traveling to events near and far with no Domestic Airlines issues as a Cary On. My initial thoughts after receiving it, checking it over thoroughly and loading my equipment in it are all extremely positive. (I won't bore you with an equipment list!) It's quality I found to be superior upon inspection, from the materials used on the main bag to the handles and Zippers, though with all products of this type only time will tell how any will hold up! That said, given my inspection I'm expecting years of use with no issues. I won't bore you with all its features which led me to buy the Manfroto over the other like products however its main use is ease of transport and to protect my equipment. The Manfroto inner dividers and outer "inside" case lining really are nice. I believe that it will protect my equipment better, plus the ease of access to my laptop and tablet when traveling are extremely convenient. The case will hold any laptop you have without question. The built in Zipper lock is also a very nice feature to secure my equipment and since it's built in it won't become lost! So ya, I'm extremely pleased so far and expect that to continue. I chose B&H to purchase as I have used them for at least the last 10 + years with ZERO issues.

Great travel roller!

I used this travel roller for my trip to Prague recently and it worked amazingly well! I flew from STL to PRG and back without any issues with carry-on. I flew American and British Airways. Fits in the over head bins like a glove. It also fit all my gear with room to spare. I packed two gripped Nikon D850's, Nikkor 70-200 2.8E ED FL, Nikkor 50mm 1.4G, Nikkor 24-120ED f4, and a Tamrom 15-30mm 2.8, a battery charger, filter kit, lenses cleaning kit, and my remote trigger. Rolled smooth a butter and never had a problem with it wanting to tip over awhile standing up. The combination locking zipper is also a great feature!! I honestly can't find one complaint about this bag so far. I highly recommend it!

question

The wheels are customer replaceable when will they become available as an option?
Asked by: Anonymous
While it looks like the wheels can be replaced, they are not available as an accessory and not something I would do without understanding the risk of doing this yourself. Manfrotto does have a 2 year warrantee with a optional 3 year extension and if these do wear out before that time, Manfrotto could replace the wheels for you.

question

I just got it delivered, I wanted to know if it is supposed to come with the little strap to hold the tipod on the side of the bag? It didn't come with mine...
Asked by: Anonymous
Yes it does come with a tripod strap. It should be in the top left pocket inside the bag.

question

I see that the Manfrotto 5001B Nano Stand is the stand pictured in the example photo, so I was wondering how many those lightstands could possibly fit in this bag?
Asked by: Kendra
If you want to only carry the Manfrotto 5001B Nano Stand, we would say 6 stands easily, possibly 8.

International carry on compatibility?
Asked by: Cameron
There's a lot of small variance in dimensional requirements. See link: https://www.travelandleisure.com/style/travel-bags/airline-carry-on-luggage-size-guide This bag would be okay with most carriers.

question

Has anyone run into any issues with carry-on using this bag for USA/Canada domestic flights? I'm aware that it depends on airline, but curious if anyone has been stopped to check the bag in most cases? I'd like to keep my equipment with me at all times during flights...
Asked by: Walter Y.
I fly with all my gear in this bag and have never had a problem with any airline. I've flown southwest, delta, and American with the bag on all sorts of flights, big and small aircraft.

question

I like the look etc. of this bag but I need a bag that can travel over a little ruffer terrain--the wheels do not seem to qualify. can anyone recommend a quality piece of equipment for me?
Asked by: sandra o.
I purchased this bag a few months ago and it's been great to me. However I would not recommend rough terrain for this bag. I would look for a bag like this but with back straps and roller combo. I think that is what you're looking for. Hope this helps.
