Can anyone tell me how many AF points are active when used with a 150-600 G2 on a 7d Mark II? Thank you
Asked by: Pascal
You would have cross type AF from the center spot and the focus points above, below would do horizontal while the spots to the left or right would do vertical. You can read more about it on page 103 of the manual http://bit.ly/2NOwA88.

I understand this one will not AF with the older (original) Tamron 150-600, but will it work in manual with that lens? My Kenko TC throws a comm error and I can't even use the lens with manual operation.
Asked by: David
I contacted Tamron regarding your inquiry concerning using the the Tamron Teleconverter 1.4x for Canon EF on the older (original, now-discontinued) Tamron SP 150-600mm f/5-6.3 Di VC USD Lens for Canon. According to the manufacturer, they state "the teleconverter should physically fit as long as the mounts match; however they may receive connection errors, a blank screen, or no functionality."

Says autofocus at select focal lengths. Could someone please tell me which ones?
Asked by: Suzanne
"Select Focal Lengths" refers to the lens' maximum aperture at a given zoom range, for example, if a lens' focal length is set to 400mm and the maximum aperture is f/5.6 or slower, you will most likely not achieve autofocus becasue a lens must have an effective aperture f/8 or faster when a converter is attached. Basically you lose 1.5 stops of light with the 1.4 converter.

question

Is this compatible with Tamron 150-600 initial version (not G2) and will autofocus work on Canon 7Dii?
Asked by: Sheryl
The Tamron Teleconverter 1.4x for Canon EF is not compatible with the first version of the Tamron 150-600mm lens. The only lens currently on the market compatible with this teleconverter is the 150-600mm G2.
