Many cars these days have powered USB ports. Can this camera be powered via a standard (albeit long) USB cable plugged into a powered in-dash USB port rather than the ugly and obtrusive cigarette lighter jack?

The camer does work when connected to a laptop via a USB cable so I see no reason why it wouldn't work the same way in the car.
