Rokinon 50mm T1.3 Cine Overview

Small and fast, the 50mm Compact High-Speed Cine Lens covers APS-C and Four Thirds format sensors. The lens comes in a Sony E-mount and features industry standard geared focus and iris rings. Ultra Multi-Coatings on the lens provide sharp contrast and consistent colors from lens-to-lens. Aspheric and extra low dispersion glass elements are used to minimize chromatic aberrations. The lens is marked in both feet and meters and features a de-clicked iris for smooth aperture pulls.

This 50mm lens produces 31.7° AOV when used with APS-C cameras; however, even though it has a Sony E-mount, it does not cover full-frame sized sensor. Internal focus design and a non-rotating front enables using it with a wide variety of cine-style accessories. The lens features low chromatic aberration and has a minimum focus distance of just under 12" from the lens. A removable lens hood provides flare protection when shooting without a matte box, and the lens's threaded front accepts a 62mm filter ring.

50mm lens with approximate angle of view of 31.7° on an APS-C camera.
Ultra Multi Coated lenses minimize flare and ghosting.
Aspheric elements and extra low dispersion glass are used to create a lens with low coma and low chromatic aberration.
Industry-standard gearing for focus and aperture rings.
De-clicked aperture ring for smooth iris pulls.
The 9-blade iris creates a round aperture for natural looking bokeh and round out of focus highlights.
A minimum focusing distance of 19.7" allows you to get up close to your subject.

What is the difference between the Rokinon 50mm ...

What is the difference between the Rokinon 50mm T1.5 And the Rokinon 50mm T1.3? Is the 1.5 version sharper? It’s a lot heavier? Is this a older version? Different Performance at high frame rate?
Asked by: Bill
The lenses are very similar but the main difference is the lower F-stop of the T1.3 Cine Lens version, and the lens coatings. The T1.3 Cine Lens has a coating to reduce lens-flares while the T1.5 DS Lens coating makes it more closely color-matched to other DS lenses in the set.
