Key Features
  • E-Mount Lens/APS-C Format
  • 52.5mm (35mm Equivalent)
  • Aperture Range: f/1.2 to f/16
  • One ED and Two Aspherical Elements
A truly fast prime for mirrorless cameras, the silver 35mm f/1.2 ED AS UMC CS Lens from Rokinon is designed for APS-C-format Sony E-mount cameras, and provides a 52.5mm equivalent focal length. This lens is characterized by its bright f/1.2 maximum aperture, which allows for extensive control over depth of field and selective focus, and also benefits shooting in difficult lighting conditions. The optical design incorporates one extra-low dispersion element and two aspherical elements in order to minimize both chromatic and spherical aberrations, for increased clarity and sharpness, and individual elements also feature an Ultra Multi-Coating to reduce lens flare and ghosting. The manual focus design affords precise focusing control down to 1.25' and a rounded nine-blade diaphragm also contributes to a pleasing bokeh quality.

question

I'm in the market for a decent wide-angle prime lens for my Canon 5D Mark III. I want to use this lens for both wide-angle landscape photography as well as astrophotography. Given that I already have Canon's 24-70mm, f2.8 lens, my questions are: (1) would the Rokinon 20mm, f/1.4 manual focus be a good candidate?; (2) is 20mm wide enough or should I go down to say 14-18mm?; how does this Rokinon lens compare with Canon's EF 20mm, f/2.8 USM lens in terms of usability and quality? Thank you!

Does this Rokinon 35mm F/1.2 EF-M Mount Lens have a non-rotating front? I plan on pairing this with the SLR Magic Anamorphot-50 2.0x Anamorphic Adapter. I do know the thread is 62mm.

question

Will this go on a sony a7iii?
Asked by: Lindsey C.
As Muny said, this is for APS-C sensors, you can definitely mount it to A7iii but you will get black borders. For A7iii actually you can go with the 50mm f1.4 which is equivalent to the 35mm in APS-C.
