Nikon Monarch 20-60x82 Overview

With extra-low dispersion (ED) glass preventing chromatic aberrations and Field-Flattener technology for edge-to-edge sharpness, the Monarch 20-60x82 ED Spotting Scope from Nikon offers a contrast-rich and color-accurate image. Equipped with an 82mm objective lens that gathers ample light and a 20-60x zoom eyepiece, this angled-viewing scope is suited to a wide range of uses.

Multi-layer coatings on the lenses and prisms provide bright detailed views, even in low-light conditions. The focusing ring permits fine adjustment for distant subjects and coarse adjustment for nearby subjects. Weather and temperature changes won't interfere with your glassing—the Monarch's body and eyepieces are waterproof and the body is nitrogen filled to prevent fogging and condensation.

  • Field-Flattener technology minimizes aberrations at the edge of the field of view, creating a sharper, clearer view right out to the edge
  • Extra-low dispersion (ED) glass delivers sharp images free of violet chromatic aberration in addition to the conventional RBG color correction
  • Multi-layer coated lenses and prisms provide bright detailed views, even in low-light conditions
  • Optimized Focusing System furnishes a large focusing ring with fine and coarse ability for smoother, faster, and less stressful focusing
  • Aluminum-alloy body with type 1 bayonet mount with locking system makes eyepiece attachment/detachment easy and secure
  • O-ring sealed, nitrogen filled, provides water and fogproof protection

Awesome Scope!

I bought this scope to view boats & marine life from my 6th story oceanfront balcony. I paired it with a Magnus video tripod and the results are astounding! I was able to identify a 2'x3' flag on the back of a sailboat from over 3 miles away. It was French by the way. I could see the rigging & people, just amazing. I was able to read the name of a boat from 2 miles away. Glad I chose the angled scope, gives more viewing flexibility. The stay-on case is a little tricky to put on but it's a nice added feature. I've always sworn by Nikon for m & I am not disappointed.

Am having a great time with this scope.

Bright, clear, easy to use. I am not a fan of the barrel focus but am getting used to it. I bought another brand of scope first at similar price, but it was no better than the 20 year old, low end Nikon I already owned. B and H gave me no trouble with the return, and after that was complete, I bought this scope and am very happy.

Nice optical instrument.

It was either this or the equivalent Vortex scope. I chose Nikon because I am the most familiar with their product line. Digiscoping works well with the Nikon D 5500. This is a nice light camera to use. The images are very clear and sharp. It gets a little tricky past 45x. Best results are with a good tripod and pan head. We were watching a nesting eagle and I invited onlookers to observe. They were stunned by the presentation.

well built and as advertised

Bought this model on the suggestion of a cousin who worked professionally in the bird monitoring field for many years. So far, we are very happy. It was easy to set up and has provided us excellent views of distant waterfowl. The only negative I've experienced is that the focus has to be adjusted after zooming in. We usually scan at 20X, then zoom in when we spot something. It would be nice if the focus stayed the same, but maybe that's not possible. I also find it a bit har to get the focus right at the 60X magnification.

I was fortunate to get this model used, although it really appeared brand new. I got it just in time to get a viewing of the RARE Steller's Sea Eagle that has taken up residence here in Maine. It is an excellent scope. Not too heavy considering the ability. The focus dial feels like it is in an awkward spot, I'm still getting comfortable with it. I appreciate the covers for the lens and eyepiece, but they are a bit cumbersome. Otherwise, I recommend this if you are looking for a good magnification at a good price. Plus, the Nikon service is over and above.

Because of the fluorite glass used in the Kowa chromatic aberration has been greatly reduced.

I have a Canon EOS M6 Mark II DSLR, what adaptor do I need to buy? How about for an iphone 12 max pro? Thanks!
Asked by: Ciprian
To mount your Canon EOS M6 Mark II you will need the Novagrade T-Mount Digiscoping Adapter BH #NOUA00T101 • MFR #UA-00T1-01 to mount on the scope and the Vivitar T-Mount to Canon EF-M Mount Adapter BH #VIHFT2EOSM • MFR #HF-T2-EOS-M to mount on your camera body. Those (2) pieces will now screw together. To mount your smartphone I would recommend the Celestron NexYZ DX 3-Axis Smartphone Digiscoping Kit BH #CENEXYZDXK • MFR #81057
