This grip fits my G85 nicely and attaches easily. This will be put on my new G95 when it arrives - I understand the DMW-BGG1 fits both. It works seamlessly with the controls provided without any misgivings. Price is competitive and delivery was quick arriving in perfect condition. Glad I now have a store I can depend on without the nightmares of Amazon.

Lets me really utilize the unlimited video recording length on panasonic cameras. Can easily swap out batteries for during a long shoot.

Excellent gadget. Makes shooting in portrait orientation easier and provides much needed battery life. Screw in seems flimsy; hope it holds up.

We bought this unit to use with our G85. Works exactly like described gives piece of mind by extending battery life PLUS adds some nice heft (slight weight) that also dampens the inertia when using the G85 handheld. It's very easy to add/remove using the built-in rotating wheel that loosens or tightens the internal 1/4 20 to attach to the tripod mount on the underside of the G85. The electronic pins/coupler on the top of the unit (see photo) connects to the corresponding receiver on the bottom of the G85, so the G85 can talk to the unit to monitor battery level, receive power, etc. AFAIK the G85 is the only camera currently compatible with it. We'd definitely buy it again and if/when we buy another G85, will order it as well... IMO it's a must-have for the G85, it pairs that well. We leave ours attached all the time, but it's also very easy to add/remove if needed.

Although nothing is really perfect for everybody, I must admit that adding the Panasonic DMW-BGG1 Battery Grip to the Lumix G85 (G80) is a perfect way to get a useful and secure horizontal and vertical handgrip of the camera model. Moreover the extra battery included with the grip double the number of pictures you can take and if you have a third battery, it facilite an aesier rotation of between the one already inserted into the grip. Shutter release button and control dial on the grip are similar to those of the camera body and can be shut down to prevent accidental shooting. The BGG-1 Grip is nicely constructed and fit perfectly with the camera and is also weather resistant. Overall a nice addition that facilitate your photography. (The Panasonic DMW-BGG1 fit also with the newest Lumix G95 (G90) models.)

Makes handling much easier, and doubles battery capacity!

Fits perfectly, and the Grip is Very comfortable, but the main reason that I bought it was due to the poorly placed Tripod Mount on the G85. Of course this gives you two batteries instead of one, so if you're on a long shoot, or shooting Videos, you'll appreciate the (included) extra Battery. Don't lose the Rubber Seal, or Plastic Cap, for when you want to use just the body alone. The Gear to tighten the grip is only on the front, (not like the Nikon Grips) so make sure to tighten it thoroughly!

Says it holds up to 2 batteries. Does that mean the grip itself can have 2 batteries combining with the battery in the camera to make a total of 3?

The Grip can only hold (1) one battery. The camera can also hold (1) battery, giving you the choice of how to use these batteries. For convenience, I use the Grip Battery first because it's easier to replace! Btw, my Grip came with a Battery. (it was stated right on the box, but the retailers denied this!) Cameraguy6781

Yes, the battery grip is compatible with the battery DMW-BLC12, which is the one supplied with the Lumix G95.

No, the Panasonic DMW-BGG1 Battery Grip for Lumix DMC-G85 will not fit the Panasonic Lumix DMC-G7 Mirrorless Digital Camera. It is only designed for use with the Panasonic Lumix DMC-G85 Mirrorless Digital Camera. Panasonic does not currently offer a grip designed for use with the Panasonic Lumix DMC-G7 Mirrorless Digital Camera.

The digital camera can be used for longer periods of time when batteries are inserted in both the digital camera and the battery grip. (It will switch to the other battery when one of the batteries is exhausted.) • The battery to be used primarily can be set in the digital camera. The grip does not have internal charging. Comes with one (1) Lumix battery in box with the grip, so you don't need to buy a battery if all you need is one (1) battery.
