Whether you're hiking on country hills or urban valleys and everywhere in between, the khaki Havana 48 Backpack from Vanguard will hold and protect your DSLR camera with attached lens, 2-3 extra lenses, flash unit, accessories, tripod, and a 15" laptop. The bag features three zippered compartments – a top front compartment compartment for personal items such as clothing, books, and snacks, a side compartment for your laptop, and a lower front compartment for storing the removable photo insert or additional personal items.

The front of the zippered lower compartment folds down to facilitate access to the photo insert. The insert is held in place with touch-fastening fabric and features both a zippered lid and a top handle. Simply remove the insert to free up space for everyday excursions which don't involve photography.

The top front of the backpack features a zippered pocket for storing small items such as a map, brochure, or coins. Below this pocket is a larger zippered pocket with a key lanyard, removable rain cover, and room for a cellphone, wallet, and other small items. On the right side of the backpack is an exterior, slip-in pocket with a drawstring for a water bottle. The left side of the backpack features an identical pocket for holding a tripod or monopod bottom.

The Havana 48 can be carried by its top handle or adjustable, padded shoulder harness. A center chest strap connects the shoulder harness straps for improved stability. The back of the backpack is padded for comfort and support. And for improved interior visibility when locating gear in low light, the inside of the backpack is made of light gray 150D polyester and velvet.

Havana 48-Backpack (Blue) is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 13.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great bag so far I have only used this bag one time. It does have more room for items like a jacket, raincoat, etc which I needed. My D500 with an 18 to 200 lens takes up the majority of the camera area. I got my battery charger, spare battery, adapters to download and a few other small accessories in the camera bag portion with the camera. I actually have room in the upper portion for another lens but only wished to carry one. The bag is very comfortable even when carrying my new Apple Pro laptop. We will see how it works out next month when I take it to Europe.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Day trip dream I looked for a long time to find a bag that would handle some camera gear and a place to put a lunch bag for the day. I'm a hiker and take only one or two lenses. Having a larger area on top makes sure I can take lunch also. I'm a petite plus size and the large size isn't too big for my frame. I've taken it out 5 times so far and I'm really enjoying it. The quality seems good, I've put alot of weight in it and it's holding up well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Useful, durable, comfortable and stylish I purchased this backpack visiting the store in NY. Very good quality material, the space reserved for the camera is very good to protect the camera. It fits my Canon T5 and a 18-55mm + 50mm. I used this backpack everyday in my trip to NY, very useful and comfortable. Besides the camera, it has a space for tripods, a bottle of water.. I also carry a jacket, gloves, and some snacks (in the upper compartment).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect! I started looking for a camera bag/backpack in one and looked at the Havana 41 but the 48 looked like a better option for the amount of gear I have. The camera bag section is very spacious and the padding is adequate with plenty of space around the bag to stuff in some bubble wrap is you think it's not enough protection. I don't see an issue with the padding as it is. As you can see in the photo, I can fit - two Olympus OM-D M5 II camera bodies (left in photo) - 14-150 lens (outside on left but is laid on top of bodies) - 12-50, 9-18, 12 mm lenses (right side) - 75-300 (centre) lenses - Olympus Tough point and shoot (centre) - batteries, chargers, cords, filters and my external drive on top. And there is still room to bubble wrap individual lenses and toss in some smaller accessories. I have a regular tripod and it fits in the side pocket (two legs in, one out) The top portion of the bag is very spacious and I like that I only have to deal with the one large compartment. It has two cell phone sized pockets and two large pen holders as well as a memory card holder. The laptop compartment is more than big enough to hold my Microsoft Surface laptop. I could also use the laptop sleeve for my water bladder in place of the laptop. The zipper starts at the top so that the tube can exit there and the mouthpiece slips under a strap on the shoulder straps. I like the tuckaway waist belt so there's nothing in the way there. This is the perfect camera backpack for travelling.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good for the amateur photographer/traveler As a non professional photographer, I was looking for a backpack camera bag that I could take on a 3 day safari trip this spring. I wanted room for both my few pieces of camera gear, and still have room for a couple days worth of clothes. This seems to fit the bill perfectly! It appears well constructed, fits well on my 5'2 frame, and has lots of pockets which I hope will keep me organized! I'm looking forward to seeing how it works on my trip!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from MAYBE for mirrorless Let me start by saying I adore Vanguard products. I have the Havana 21 for my Sony a6000 and an extra lens. The hardware, design, and materials of this bag are all gorgeous. However, there is no way I'd put a DSLR in this Havana 48. The camera compartment is small and poorly padded. I ordered the bag hoping to be able to carry my full frame Canon, but there is no way I'd trust it. I also frankly don't know if it would even fit. (I packaged it up for return the moment I opened the camera compartment) Sure, I could try to Frankenstein another padded case I own into this bag. But at this price? I don't know if I'd even trust the poor padding on a Sony a7 line camera, though it would fit. Otherwise it's great. Nice pockets, a rain cover, and it's not black. I'm quite bummed the padding and camera compartment aren't not up to snuff. It was close to being the perfect bag.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Like it very much, but don't love it I like this enough to keep it, but wish that it were better. Pros: - Easy access to camera and lenses. I specifically wanted a backpack with this design so that it is easy to get to my camera without having to lay the pack down or turn it sideways, etc. as you would have to do with many of the packs out there. - Lots of compartments. There is ample room for additional items in the upper compartment and outside pockets. - Holds a water bottle on the outside. A feature that was important to me. - Comes in two nice colors and is more stylish than most camera backpacks. Cons: - Quality is just fair. I originally purchased another brand of a very similar style that was less expensive and much better quality, but it was very difficult to get the camera and lenses out of the lower compartment, so I opted for this one. For the price though, I do not feel the quality of the material and zippers is that great. It is not poor, but not what I would expect for the price. I hope that it holds up over time. - While this fits the gear I have now (Nikon D5300 with 2 kit lenses) and has room for maybe on more lens or external flash, it will not grow with me very well. Though it will be possible to put extra lenses in the top compartment if I get a small padded case for them. While I am selecting I would recommend this, I have to add that it would depend. If you have a larger camera or lots of lenses, then this would probably not be the bag for you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fits my needs i needed a backpack to hold my gym shoes, shorts, book and camera gear. the separated compartments make it happen. My shoes just fit into the top compartment length wise (size 11 USA Male).
