Intova DUB-SY overview

  • 1Description

The Intova DUB Action Camera, with a sport yellow waterproof housing, shoots 1080p resolution video and 8MP photos in a 108° wide angle, allowing you to capture your adventures in Full HD in an immersive angle of view. The waterproof housing lets you dive as deep as 200' underwater with the camera. The housing is also built to float, so if you drop the camera on the water surface while in a pool or somewhere similar, it will remain on the surface.

Featuring a built-in mic, the DUB also captures audio with your videos. Record everything to microSDHC cards up to 32GB, sold separately, and output your footage and images to your computer via a micro-USB output. There's also a 1.5" LCD screen on the rear of the camera for setting up, monitoring, and reviewing your shots.

The DUB features a rechargeable lithium-ion 1100mAh battery that runs for up to 120 minutes. The camera also offers a 1/4"-20 threaded mounting hole for compatibility with standard action camera mounts and for mounting on tripods and other support gear.

Note: To maintain a waterproof seal, please inspect the waterproof door O-ring and clean it by removing any sand, dirt, debris, etc. Leakage/damage due to improper O-ring maintenance is not covered under warranty.

    Intova DUB-SY reviews

DUB Action Camera (Sport Yellow) is rated 3.5 out of 5 by 20.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good for the price This was a one day deal zone special for under $30. For that price it is great but it is very limited. The experience is more or less positive so I may move up to a better camera. The camera makes a noise when you start filming but no noise when you stop so sometimes it is easy to loose track of where you are. The screen is too small to be useful so the tone is critical. The camera fogged up one day during use but after opening it up and drying it out it was fine the next time. The resolution is pretty low and there are odd offset slices sometimes in the picture but for the price it performed as well as can be expected.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Only buy this if you plan to flush it down the toilet! This camera is an absolute joke. Worst image and video quality of any camera I ever purchased. I bought a wee little camera like this in 2000 for my 5-year-old daughter to use, was about $10 at the time. I still have videos she recorded, and frankly, they are better quality than this will record. Same for the still pictures. This is more grainy, worse in dim light, worse in normal light, worse in bright light in every picture I took with it. Any cell phone with a camera will take better quality video than this. Seriously. Even your 2005 flip phone. So grainy that you can't even bear to watch video recorded in good lighting, unusable in dim lighting. Image stabilization doesn't do anything whether it's on or off. Returned for a refund.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from What a miniature camera! I haven't used the camera yet as I am waiting for the micro SD cards. This camera is only a couple of ounces, easy to carry. The number of features is remarkable. I probably never use waterproof housing. I especially like the fact that it shoots photos and video. By the time I explored all the possibilities on the menu, I began to realize the full potential. I'm not sure I know how to use all the features. Sound is a great advantage since it allows identification of each photo. I don't know how they put all this in a matchbox sized camera. The ad should show the camera without the case. This camera will go everywhere with me--RV trips, hunting, vacations.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good for $25 I bought this on a whim on a great sale, I think it normally runs about a $hundred. I was wanting some way to take photos in Mexico this summer when my family goes on a cruise, with one of those dolphin excursion things. I figured I could spend $100 or more on a waterproof bag for my $1,000 camera and hope it doesn't leak, or spend $25 for this little guy and if it gets wet, no big deal. So far I'm satisfied. Took a few shots in the back yard to test and like it. It does have a fisheye kind of look to the photos though.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible quality!!! This is the worse camera that I have used so far. You need to be in an extremely great conditions in a full light day to get a decent recording. There is not high-definition as it is claimed, and it is so basic that there is not setting to play with to improve the recording. I got it for $29.99 and I though... well it is not expensive, but if you pay $1 still will be money wasted.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from You get what you pay for I bought this hoping it could shoot as well as a GoPro for a fraction of the cost. Nope. The video is terrible. Incredibly noisy, even in terrific lighting conditions. I pity anyone who buys this when it isn't on sale. Even when it's on sale... just buy a GoPro and save yourself the aggravation.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Save up for the GoPro I really wanted to like this camera: it was such a steal and got good reviews. But, with this camera you really get what you pay for. Lots of noise, colors are washed out; overall image quality leaves a lot to be desired.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from 2005 Flip Phone Quality Pros: It's cheap, and the waterproof case is okay. Cons: In an image quality contest between the Intova DUB Action camera and my Motorola Razr flip phone from 2005, it's a tie. The image quality is seriously bad, and the aliasing is off the charts. According to the file info, it records HD in a 1:1:1 color space, if anyone's curious. Get the Yi instead.
