Key Features

  • TruePic VIII Dual Quad Core Processor
  • Micro Four Thirds System
  • 2.36m-Dot LCD Electronic Viewfinder
Fast, durable, and versatile, the black OM-D E-M1 Mark II from Olympus is a workhorse Micro Four Thirds mirrorless camera, offering a broad range of stills and video-minded functionality. Revolving around a high-resolution 20.4MP Live MOS sensor and TruePic VIII image processor, the E-M1 Mark II sports a truly fast 60 fps continuous shooting rate with an electronic shutter, 18 fps with continuous autofocus, and 15 fps with a mechanical shutter. For video shooters, both DCI and UHD 4K recording modes can be used, along with a Time-lapse Movie mode for producing in-camera 4K time-lapse sequences. The sensor and processor also avail a top expanded sensitivity of ISO 25600 to support shooting in difficult lighting conditions, and sensor-shift-type 5-axis image stabilization also helps to minimize the appearance of camera shake for sharper handheld shooting. Additionally, the sensor's design also incorporates 121 on-chip phase-detection points, all of which are cross-type, along with 121 contrast-detection areas for fast and precise focusing and subject tracking performance.

question

Hello, i was wandering if a minimum shutter speed can be set while in auto ISO and if so what are the limits (lower and upper)? Thanks
Asked by: Paul L.
There are actually two different areas to set the lowest shutter speed, one in Auto ISO and the other when using flash. Menu E1 ISO-Auto Set allows you to set the Auto ISO range (200-6400) and the Lowest S/S Setting (Auto/off or selectable from 30 to 1/8000) for P and Av modes. The camera will keep your specified minimum shutter speed up to your max specified ISO, but once there it will decrease the shutter speed to obtain the correct exposure. So the max ISO is a hard limit and the shutter speed is more of a soft limit. The second place you can set this is on the Flash menu (F) where you can choose the X-sync (1/60 - 1/250) and the slow (lowest s/s) limit when using flash (30 to 1/250).

Does the F.O.V. remain the same regardless of the ...

Does the F.O.V. remain the same regardless of the video resolution chosen? I know Panasonic uses a sensor crop/window that magnifies the F.O.V. a bit when 1080 is recorded on a 4k chip. (GH4). My concern is for wide lens choice.
Asked by: Vincent
I don’t really know. Have only shot 1080 video, not 4k. For 1080 the field of view remains as it does when shooting stills.

question

I have the M5 Mark II. Can I use the same batteries if I purchase the M1? I'm assuming all my Zuiko lenses are compatible.
Asked by: Joan
The Olympus BLN-1 Rechargeable Lithium-ion Battery is compatible for use with both the Olympus OM-D E-M5 Mark II Mirrorless Micro Four Thirds Digital Camera and the original Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mirrorless Micro Four Thirds Digital Camera. It is not compatible with the Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark II Mirrorless Micro Four Thirds Digital Camera, which uses the Olympus BLH-1 Lithium-Ion Battery. All Olympus M.Zuiko lenses or third-party lenses designed for the Micro Four Thirds lens mount would equally be compatible with the original Olympus OM-D E-M1, the OM-D E-M1 Mark II, and the OM-D E-M5 Mark II Mirrorless Micro Four Thirds Digital Cameras.
