EVGA 220-G2-0550-Y1 Overview

  • 1Description

The SuperNOVA 550 G2 550W 80 Plus Gold Modular Power Supply from EVGA is a powerful and efficient modular ATX power supply designed with a single +12 V rail for stability and compatibility among current generation hardware. It's built with multiple heavy-duty protection features and the modular design allows you to connect only the cables you need. Unused cables can be stored should you decide to upgrade your system down the road. With less cable clutter, there will be better airflow within the chassis for lower temperatures. A built-in 140mm fan operates silently and provides additional heat dissipation. The SuperNOVA G2 comes with enough cables for multi-GPU setups and plenty of peripherals.

    EVGA 220-G2-0550-Y1 Reviews

SuperNOVA 550 G2 550W 80 Plus Gold Modular Power Supply is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 14.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Seems like a good replacement My original power supply on this particular build was name silencer, but I swear, this SuperNova seems quieter to my ears. Replacing a power supply is as bad or worse than the original assembly... getting out the old power cables, rerouting the stuff you have to keep, and then installing the new power cables. If I weren't so picky and wanted a neat interior, I could have done it a lot faster, but everything is back to normal, up and running, and it's hard to believe I even had a power supply bite the dust. That was my main workhorse machine, so I'm glad to have it back to normal again. The price didn't even hurt as bad as the original

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nicely built! I bought this for a (as yet completed) new build, but also temporarily threw it in my old system in attempt to trouble-shoot (RIP, old system). While in the old system, fan was extremely quiet, even with the side panel off. Solid build, solid reputation, LOVE that it's fully modular and the sleeving. Even the tester & velcro bag to hold the extra cables was a nice touch. Might consider going up in wattage next go-around, tho. Definitely happy with this purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Power Supply For Reliability I bought this power supply to bring new life to an old Quad Core LGA 775 system. This is the second one I've purchased and the first is going strong on a LGA 1150 I7-4760K system 1 1/2 years later. I also like the long warranty that EVGA provides. This power supply the perfect balance between what my system needed and what I was willing to spend. The 550 watts of clean power will just about power just about any system, short of a serious gaming system or systems with extreme graphics requirements. It has the added bonus of being extremely quiet with its Echo Mode. I have yet to hear the fan kick on so it's absolutely silent. The cables are plentiful and very easy to work with. You will only use what you need, and in a M-ITX case it can be a life saver. I can't recommend this power supply enough!!! One system component that's needs to be strong, steady and unwavering is your power supply, so don't skimp! Highly Recommended!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quiet and efficient Going to start off by saying I'm new to building computers so I don't have a lot of knowledge. But when I got it it immediately seemed like it was very good quality and had all the necessary cables and parts so I was impressed. Then cut to once everything is put together and I can barely hear it at all. Couldn't recommend it enough

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent product Very solid construction. Only way to evaluate the product will be 5-10 years from now, if the computer last that long! Can't think of anything wrong with it. Only way to evaluate properly would necessitate very expensive equipment, so go with tech reviews, and they are very good.. for your money. I am buying a second one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great reviews, NO fan noise. NO fan noise unless demand turns it on. Controlled by external switch if you want fan to always stay on. JonnyGuru 10/10 review; 5 eggs, about 80 reviews. Bought for OverClocking; ultra clean power. 550 watts enough to run a 1080 GPU. Best $ here, Free ship. 3rd purchase from B&H thanks !!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Decent power supply Power supply is pretty quiet. Cables seemed a bit on the thick side but maybe that's just me; the PC I built with this one was the first one I ever built. Haven't had problems with it yet, although the bundled SATA power cables can be a bit inconvenient because they have multiply endings.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It is what it says it is Not much to say about a PSU other than whether it's working or not. So far I have no complaints! Fit into my NZXT s340 elite without a hitch. The PSU does seem to have high build quality, but that's almost expected with EVGA. Well packaged.

    question

Will the EVGA SuperNOVA 550 G2 and a MSI GeForce GTX1050Ti Gaming X 4G play well in the Inspiron 3847 i5-4460 (16GB RAM)? I'm running X-Plane 10 OK with integrated HD4600 but would like to upgrade the GPU.
    Asked by: Charles
Installed the EVGA SuperNOVA 650 G2 power supply this morning, submitted review of the installation and I'm looking forward to installing the GTX 1050 Ti 4GT OC graphics card when it arrives Tuesday! It's a beautiful thing!
