    13.3" R 13 64GB Multi-Touch Chromebook is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 12.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Diggin' it so far So far so good. Once you set this device to the proper stream so that it can run Google Play, it is a really functional device. Screen is ok, not spectacular but far better than some chromebooks. Seems to have plenty of processing power. You can have multiple tabs open running different apps with very little evidence of slow down. The screen hinge seems to be of good quality and it is nice to be able to use it in tablet configuration. The touch screen seems to work well so far. I would recommend this product to some one who is looking for good chromebook but not to some one who is looking for a fully functional laptop.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Acer Chromebook R13 is exceeding expectations! I purchased this Chromebook because of the many state of the art features it has and because it was advertised as being able to run Android apps. So far (received on 12/7) I feel it has exceeded expectations. It does run almost all of the android apps that I use on my tablet and phone and all that was required to use the apps was to set the Chrome OS to its' beta version which is an easy change in the settings menu. Then download your favorite android apps and try them out. The beta OS version runs quite well. I am slowly moving over to Chrome OS and getting rid of my Microsoft Windows 10 computers and this is exactly what I was looking forward to achieve that goal. It is lightweight, very fast, and the battery life is tracking very close to 12 hours on a charge. Great Chromebook Acer! Well done!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Happy With This Computer I purchased this because I was looking for cheaper alternative to my previous computer (MacBook Air), which I had to give up when I switched jobs as it was a work computer. I saw this had a 13 inch screen, a touch screen, and was on the list to receive Android Apps. I've had a couple user errors, but otherwise it's been a great experience. I'm still adjusting to ChromeOS, but since most of my computing was online already, it's been a relatively easy adjustment. I'm very pleased so far with my purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is where all computers are headed! An excellent computer for beginners, seniors, or children next-to-impossible to screw it up. Inexpensive; east to learn; easy to use; few problems; good support for printers through Google Cloud Printing; automatic data backups through Google Drive Cloud Storage; good compatibility with files from Word + Excel + PowerPoint + PDF's + JPEG pictures + MP3 audio + MP4 video; immune to viruses (at least at present time). Has requisites of 4 GB of RAM, SD memory card slot, & HDMI port. 360 degree hinge lets it be a laptop or tablet as needed. If you have more money than you know what to do with, an Intel i3 or m3 CPU, or even an Intel i5 or m5 CPU are faster, but MediaTek CPU in this computer is fine. As with any laptop, consider getting an external 23 LED-backlit display to connect to HDMI port, for a much larger & useful display when at home. Can configure external display to mirror what is on Chromebook display, or to be a separate additional desktop space. You have 15 GB of cloud storage with your Google account, plus an additional 100 GB of cloud storage free for 2 years because you bought a Chromebook. After that, if you want the extra 100 GB, it will cost you $2.79 per month (or you can have 1000 GB for $13.99 per month). You also get about 56 GB of local storage for when you are not connected to the Internet. If that isn't enough for you, you can add up to 512 GB local storage on an SD card, or multiple TB on an external hard drive or Solid State Drive. It turns on in about 11 seconds, & off in about 1 second. Battery life has to be seen to be believed -- it lasts all day long (about 9 hours)! If you are thinking of getting this as a gift for someone who will be asking you to support them in using it, it is much simpler than Windows or Apple O.S., & you will spend a lot less time helping them! All in all, a Chromebook is an excellent first computer, or a good choice for an additional computer. I would buy it all over again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from a good deal with a few flaws; recommended I debated between four and five stars. Since I gave it 5 stars I'll start with the downsides. The screen looks nice but it's glossy, so when you use its touchscreen feature it shows every fingerprint. The aluminum case is pretty but it dents relatively easily. And out of the box, it got into a reboot loop. I thought I'd have to send it back but I was able to trigger a Power Wash before it rebooted and since then it's been fine. I could also hope for it to be a little lighter. But... those are all the downsides I can think of. On the plus side: this is a smart looking machine with good battery life (more than 6 hours of actual use with a fairly bright screen -- can eke out more time if you work at it). The processor is fast, much faster than the Acer R11 Chromebook I had previously. Its colorful touch screen feels surprisingly large. The flip feature is interesting. The Acer R11 was much smaller, so when in tablet mode it felt like a normal tablet. In tablet mode, this one looks and feels huge, more like an iPad Pro or Surface. Chrome OS is usable as a touchscreen/tablet OS, but it's not ideal. If you want to do more than a little typing, swing your keyboard out instead of using the on-screen one. But the tablet mode is great for the kitchen (the touchscreen is much easier to clean than a keyboard), for reading, and for watching movies on the nice wide screen. ChromeOS is good for browsing the Web and using Google Apps (the G Suite) including Gmail. Gmail Offline and Google Docs Offline work pretty well nowadays. You can play music and video, and read your Kindle books, while offline. So you don't need an Internet connection all the time. It has one USB-C port (which is also its power port) and one USB-A port. If you have a phone with a USB-C port, you can take only one charger with you and charge both your devices (unless you need to charge both at once). Or you can borrow someone else's charger in a pinch. It's like living in the future.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Its a buy but beware the power plug at machine - mines dodgy I use this for general small business. I've had the device for 20 days. May have to send it back if charge plugin stops working. Overall the device is a pleasure to use and these days I doo 99.9% of my stuff in the browser - who's performance I can't fault..Read on... PROS: The R13 has a good screen standard HD keyboard is good,no gripes about that. battery life is a true 10+ hours the Playstore is a treat, keep in mind not accessible on a Google user account that manages Gsuite - create another account on same machine is the fix, clunky but will do till something better comes along. the touch screen is great machine is silent at all time - silent. 20 tabs open - no issue at all. perfomance rocks. The Chrome store now has a brilliant selection of free and paid apps/extentions/themes B&H have done a beautiful job getting me this R13 in no time from the other side of the globe - perfect stuff B&H! CONS: battery plug on this brand new machine is dodgy - first time I plugged it in it didn't go to charge, still needs a wriggle on the plug to engage charge mode most times I plug it in. I'm really quite concerned about this and may have to send it back - which I don't want to do because I love my R13.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great laptop, Android apps rounds out the experience Very responsive, as one would expect from a Chromebook. I had to switch to the dev channel to open the Android Play Store. I've found occasional hangups when using Android apps.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice machine Narrow chassis. Can use Google Play if using the Beta OS. Some Android apps don't scale well, but run nonetheless. Current beta and dev OS's disregard the 2 in 1 functionality? in that when the machine is flipped around, the display doesn't reorient. Coming from Windows, some functionality is lacking but, Chromebooks are still cool to use. Just different. I'm keepin' mine.
