The 14" 32GB Chromebook 14 from Acer runs on the Google Chrome operating system, which relies on Internet connectivity for full access to its features. While it may be a cloud-based computing solution, it's still capable of the daily functions you need in a portable computer. Equipped with a 1.6 GHz Intel Celeron N3160 Quad-Core processor and 4GB of LPDDR3 RAM, the Chromebook 14 enables you to efficiently multitask as well as quickly access frequently used files and programs. When you need more power, the CPU can reach a burst frequency of 2.24 GHz.
Its 14" IPS (In-Plane Switching) display, driven by integrated Intel HD graphics, has a 1920 x 1080 resolution so you can enjoy crisp and clear Full HD content with vivid colors. An HDMI port will let you connect an external display to further increase its multitasking capabilities. Like all Chromebooks, the storage of the Chromebook 14 is limited, so it only has 32GB of eMMC storage. Should you run out of storage, you can connect external storage devices using its two USB 3.0 Type-A ports. Otherwise, you can pair compatible wireless peripherals using Bluetooth 4.2 technology. Connect to the Internet via 802.11a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi. Other integrated features include speakers, a microphone, a webcam, and a 3.5mm audio in and out combo jack.
Please note that in order to take full advantage of Chrome OS, you will need to be connected to the Internet.
With the built-in webcam, which supports HDR (High Dynamic Range), people you video chat with will be able to see you with greater clarity and detail.
Capable of lasting up to 12 hours of use, the Chromebook 14 is here to keep up with you, wherever you may be.
Aluminum Alloy Housing
Built with an all-aluminum-alloy housing, the Chromebook 14 is both stylish and durable.
Using Linux as a base, Google designed Chrome OS to work exclusively with web applications. The user interface takes a minimalist approach, which greatly resembles the Google Chrome web browser. Chrome OS was built for people who spend a majority, if not all, of their time on the computer connected to the Internet. The only application that comes installed on Chrome OS is a special Google Chrome web browser with an integrated media player and file manager. All other applications are accessed by adding apps from the Google Chrome Web Store. Since Chrome OS relies entirely on Google's web apps and access to Google's services, it is highly recommended that you connect to the Internet to optimize your Chrome OS experience.
