    MSI X99A reviews

X99A Gaming Pro Carbon LGA 2011-3 ATX Motherboard is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Empressive! Impressive quality. Works flawlessly with RAM at 3466Mhz. I tried several motherboards of ASUS X99-A II before that claimed to support 3333Mhz. The max frequency on which they had a stable work was 3200 Mhz. X99A Gaming Pro Carbon LGA 2011-3 worked well without any tuning after installation. I am very happy with this purchase

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Nothing but issues... I only owned this board for 3 to 4 days when things started acting strange. Running Windows 10 pro, my computer constantly told me that a USB device is not recognized over and over again. It would play the USB disconnect and connected sound every few seconds the entire time it was booted up. In device manager, it showed a USB Device descriptor failed in the USB section. I searched for days on forums, including MSI's official forum for answers. There are several other people having this issue, but no one seemef to have a fix for it. I myself tried un-installing and re-installing drivers, I did 3 fresh windows 10 installs, and countless other options. The problem still continued. And it happened very randomly, even if there was nothing plugged into my USB ports. Upon installing a fresh copy of Windows 10, I installed all the latest drivers from MSI's website, as well as updated the bios to the latest version. None of these options fixed the issue. I called MSI and 2 different tech reps told me the board has to be returned. So I shipped it back for a replacement board, which was having PCI slot issues within a couple weeks, and the board eventually would not past after only 2 months of lite use. This board was the first time I did not go with a Gigabyte brand board, and I regretted it terribly. I went to theGA-X99-Ultra Gamingboard, and for several weeks I have been up and running flawlessly. MSI has great graphics cards, but for a high end board like this, this is just a terrible product. Look at other reviews online. Lots of bad ones out there.
