Super Clamp (Large) is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Cost-effectivelight/med duty clampopensto 2 Bought this clamp tomake an adjustableplatform for mountinga half-racksynthesizer module to music stands (see photo). Theload is< 3.75 lb., which is comparable to a DSLR,andoriented horizontally. The snag: Aftera coupleuses, theadhesive holding the rubber pads inside thejaws failed andthe pads crept off the clamping surfaces. Have since put shrink tubing on the jaws -- durability to be determined. Thus, depending onloadorientation, theclampmight not supportmore thana pound or two when mounted on avertical pole, which seems far short of its potential. Otherwise, the XP Super Clamp's positives are strong. Theclamp is robust, compact, and nicely finished.Aluminum jaws andplated steel hardware withstand quite a bit of tightening for solid mounting.Its1/4 & 3/8 threaded sockets and2 opening are features found onmore expensive clamps. Thebare clamping surfaces are very smooth, sopads might not matter for some applications.Just use care and common sense to avoid mishaps.
