Bracket for Alphatron EVF is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Bracket permanently prevents EVFs power cable from detaching This bracket is a solid piece of craftsmanship. It is ridiculously light, the little latch closes with a satisfying click and the two 1/4-20 screws grab the Alphatron EVF from two sides, locking it firmly into place. There is zero drooping so the EVFs horizon will be level with the camera's horizon. While Arri's viewfinder dovetail system is a proprietary system and currently competing with some very good alternatives (like the NATO safety rails based Wooden Camera system) it is still my favorite even for use in a non-Arri environment. It is completely backwards compatible and Tilta makes some very nice up to date compatible parts. The reason I can't award all five stars is that the Alphatron's power cable snaps into place so close to the bracket that it is impossible to push the cable's release button while the EVF bracket is in place. So either your power cable stays safely and also surprisingly permanently attached (which means that to snap the eyepiece extension into place you have to unplug the D-tab from the V-lock battery) or you have to take out the 1/4-20s and dismount the EVF every time? To me this is clearly a rather puzzling engineering oversight. But I can live with it and the rest of the build quality and daily ease of use is just of overwhelming, old-school quality.
