The NiSi 100 x 100mm Nano IRND 3.0 Filter is an ND filter with a 1,000x filter factor that provides a 10-stop exposure reduction. Its 3.0 density creates a darkening of the entire image, allowing you to photograph with a wider aperture or slower shutter speed than normally required. By slowing your exposure time or increasing your aperture, you are able to control depth of field and convey movement more easily. Neutral density filters are intended to not affect the coloration of the image and are ideal for pairing with other filters.

The design of this filter has been optimized for use with digital sensors and to promote nearly flat attenuation of visible and infrared light. Due to imaging sensors' greater susceptibility to infrared light, compared to traditional film, color casts can occur when photographing darker subjects that require increased exposure times. To provide a high level of neutrality across the visible and infrared spectrums in order to eliminate color casts and ensure cleaner, truer blacks when using the NiSi 100 x 100mm Nano IRND 3.0 Filter, one layer of NiSi Optical Nano Coating is applied to each of this filter's surfaces. The Nano coating associated with this filter also results in an improved beading effect when in contact with water or oil for greater cleaning efficiency.

This NiSi 100 x 100mm Nano IRND 3.0 Filter is constructed from optical glass for clarity as well as color fidelity, and measures 2mm thick.

100 x 100mm neutral density filter darkens the image, allowing you to photograph with a longer shutter speed or wider aperture than normally required.
Providing a 10-stop exposure reduction, this filter allows you to control depth of field and convey movement more easily.
Filter does not affect coloration of the image and is ideal for use with other filters.
Each surface includes one layer of NiSi Optical Nano Coating that attenuates infrared light as well as visible wavelengths, to maintain color neutrality and suppress color casts due to increased exposure times.
Nano coating provides an improved beading effect with water or oil for more efficient cleaning.
Constructed from optical glass for clarity.
Leatherette pouch included for storage and transport.

    100 x 100mm Nano IRND 3.0 Filter (10-Stop) is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is a top quality filter. This filter works great! No color cast that I can see. I mostly shoot raw, so that would get corrected anyway. It has a nice tight fit in the Nisi holder so no light gets through. I use a Lee version in the 150x size and this is equally as good as that.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good quality filter but has some limitations So far I have found that this filter has almost no impact on image sharpness as long as you keep the camera perfectly steady. Color cast is minimal and not a problem to correct if need be. However, there are a few limitations: - Glare is really bad. If I am shooting even 90 degrees from the sun, I get horrible glare across nearly the whole image, which is pretty much impossible to fix in post. An easy fix in the field is to simply hold your hand over the filter, which pretty much eliminates the problem. I think you can probably also buy a hood for the Nisi filter system. The problem is mostly just that it's easy to forget about this. - I don't think the water resistant coating is very good - NiSi brags that it helps water bead off or something but it's no better than any other filter as far as I can tell. - It fits very tightly in the filter holder...makes it a bit difficult to get in and out. - I have only used mine on maybe 3 trips so far, so I haven't encountered it yet, but I have heard that NiSi filters scratch very easily. Other than those items, this is a very high quality filter and it works well for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A+ I'm very happy with it, no color shift at all, at least I didn't notice it. I need to add 3-Stop or 6-Stop to it, I'm still thinking which one.
